Normally lolcows would be offended at the implication that people think they're gay, but Dobson would probably love it.

I've got no words for this. Maybe he realized his female characters are based on stereotypes? Like, I guess he has good intentions but holy shit, Dobson...

Holy shit. I was joking about how I'd encounter entire teams using nothing but the Splat Roller, but of course that's what Dobson goes for. For reference: the Splat Roller is incredibly overpowered and takes less skill to use.

Gonna sperg off topic here but the paint roller actually does take some degree of skill to use. If you charge into opponents with it you will get your shit kicked in by other players using longer range weapons. Though, I guess it has more to do with your ability to maneuver around opponents so you can catch them by surprise. Its main use is support though, and if your entire team is full of paint rollers then you're most likely going to lose.

While the idea of making the main character bi-sexual might have some potential, the way it's done is completely shallow and stupid. As already pointed out, the characters are 2 dimensional cardboard cut-outs and their most important defining aspect is their sexuality (in the most blatantly stereotyped fapfodder-way imaginable).
The characters are literally just a conglomerate of anime-tropes and carbon copies of characters from popular manga with rainbow-sparkling sexualization-sprinkles on top.

What do you guys think why doesn't Dobson like love triangles?
Is it too hard to write?
Is it something he dislikes cause 'it makes his creations sad' (like what Chris does with his characters)?
Is he sore about something in the past that he retroactively tries to claim to be a love triangle (ie: a girl he had a crush on was nice to him once and then started dating some blond dude)?

because most of the time it doesn't matter, and non-straight people for the most part act like straight people
people who expect write gay characters as overly camp and brag about sexuality are no different than homophobes who think gay men will stalk them and fuck them in the ass.
off-topic-ish ranting aside. dobby here is just another case of putting more emphasis in characters being different for the sake of being different. and a case of thinking more of unimportant things like sexuality and gender in a fake-world where it probably doesn't matter, instead of important things like morality and character (this is what sjws love to do)

He doesn't like love triangles because all female characters should be in a loving lesbian relationship that isn't fap fodder at all.

I find that offensive. I am a proud cwcsexual.
But yeah, Dobson doesn't realize sexuality doesn't make the character, morals and actions do. If sexuality defined a character, stereotypes would be a lot worse than they are now.

Has Alex ze Pirate ever had any kind of story arc where the sexuality had any kind of importance aside from Atea doing the 'Lesbian kick' and being an obnoxious, obtrusive skidmark or that incredibly boring blonde doormat being the designated 'loves the protagonist' side-character.
Or, for that matter, has there ever been any kind of story arc, the few snippets I saw seemed to be more like a really boring slice-of-life kind of comic without an overreaching plot.

Is your character's sexual preferences so important that you just had to label them using certain color schemes in their clothing Dobson?

As long as they are not into pedophilia, bestiality, necrophilia, etc. no one really cares who your character beds as long as their sexuality isn't the only definable thing about their character!

Doing it right: A character whom you've been writing for a while is at some point revealed to be gay/bi, but it's only mentioned in passing and thus isn't a big deal.

Doing it wrong: Pretty much any Glee episode. "WAH! IM GAY AND I HAVE FEELINGS YOU KNOW! PITY ME BITCHES!!!!" We get it Ryan Murphy! Gay teens get bullied for their sexuality. Yeah, that's immature of the bully to do to the queer person, but stop beating a dead horse about it!

Sigh, I don't know why, but his coloring absolutely makes the whole picture look dull and boring. Nothing really stands out, and it looks like they all are wearing the same clothing but just drenched in different colors.

And reading the bio, man oh man, that is lame. Seriously? He wanted to make one of them a complex character but just instead relied on failed gay stereotypes? And he believes bisexuals are not common in stories? They're quite common, you just have to do your research. None of his characters went away beyond being the sexual type that they are. And Dobson thinks he's going to be picked up by Disney/ any art company, and work on his types of stories.

By the way, why is this beaver looking think asexual? Why not have him be straight and make the male character asexual? I would have found that to be a better thing.

Again, the only thing stopping Dobson from drawing as he much as he would like to is...no surprise here...himself!

Again, while it's okay to take a small break and check your email/social networking sites on days when you are drawing/painting, you shouldn't be cutting into time that you should be spending working on your art because "oh look a tweet or gif that I like or identify with. I'd better see if there's similar content being posted by this account!" That's literally all it takes for a full day dedicated to art to be wasted! I used to do similar crap like that before I started working out and got serious about my artistic ability and in hindsight I fully regret being that chronically lazy!

On a related topic, doesn't someone who went to art/animation school with Dobson work for Disney these days?
