By the way, why is this beaver looking think asexual? Why not have him be straight and make the male character asexual? I would have found that to be a better thing.
Maybe he thought it would be unfitting for that character story-wise to have a (strong) sexuality or he even feared it would be morally inappropriate for the character to have a sexuality. I mean, on one hand, it's the comic relief (or he would be, if the entire crew wasn't devolving into clowns), so it would be kinda weird for him to also have a libido. On the other hand, since said character is an anthropomop- anthropomorpho- ... er... furry, he felt it best to not tackle the topic of sexuality.
Those are neat theories and they have one thing in common: they are most likely false. The most probable cause for the critter's asexuality is the fact Dobson isn't fantasizing about that dull design bonking someone.
The sexuality of a character entirely depends upon how 'hot and bothered' Dobson gets when thinking about them, so the character that doesn't fulfil a role in Dobsons fap fantasies is the only one that's asexual. Added bonus: Dobson can act all smug about being so progressive by having an asexual character. It's almost Chris-tier logic. Dobson isn't attracted to the furry, so the furry isn't attracted to anyone else, it seems.
It's also possible he wanted to avoid looking like a furry-enthusiast that sexualizes anthropomoph... uh.. furries - which is cute when you think about it. We have ample proof of him sexualizing minors...
Dobby keeps drawing shit about lesbians because he thinks making his characters lesbians and the like will make his work stand out from everyone else.
Unfortunately, all it does is make art even more nonsensical and his characters cardboard cutouts.
Dobson certainly is a special kind of genius to think relying on stereotypes will make a character memorable and unique. His character-design is bad. We already established that. He uses designs lifted from way better media, adds the special "floating eyebrows, dull colors and clamp-hands" touch of DobArt... and we get a really sucky, generic design that's only matched by the generic, boring, stereotype-ridden personalities he creates for his abominations.
Is your character's sexual preferences so important that you just had to label them using certain color schemes in their clothing Dobson?
As long as they are not into pedophilia, bestiality, necrophilia, etc. no one really cares who your character beds as long as their sexuality isn't the only definable thing about their character!
Doing it right: A character whom you've been writing for a while is at some point revealed to be gay/bi, but it's only mentioned in passing and thus isn't a big deal.
Doing it wrong: Pretty much any Glee episode. "WAH! IM GAY AND I HAVE FEELINGS YOU KNOW! PITY ME BITCHES!!!!" We get it Ryan Murphy! Gay teens get bullied for their sexuality. Yeah, that's immature of the bully to do to the queer person, but stop beating a dead horse about it!
Well, the sexuality IS the only definable trait about these characters, so...

Since "Representation matters!" (ie: The Dobson mating call), doing it subtle won't do. It has to be in-your-face and impossible to ignore. That's how Dobson rolls, that's why everything Dobson does sucks.
He can't come up with his own unique style, he can't come up with his own unique characters, he can't come up with his own unique humor, he can't come up with his own unique story, he can't be subtle about anything he does, which amplifies the aforementioned shortcomings up to 11.
Right, I'm taking a break from Dobson after this. I'm finding him harder to stomach than the loveshy

This is just perfect. These pulp books are merely spanking material for people who fetishize lesbians without understanding one bit about them. So naturally, it's right up Dobson's alley. It's really amazing how he confirms every theory about how he's not a genuine SJW and just in it for the scissoring.
Edit:
I, uh......what?
Who gives a shit who your characters would sleep with, Andrew, oh my God
It's a matter of great importance to Dobson... for obvious reasons.
