So much time wasted on Twitter in 2015.

Isn't that like the exact opposite of what happened though? While idiots were screaming in each other's faces over whose toy was better (Ps3 vs Xbox 360), the Wii established itself to be a great console to have around even if you're into different kinds of gaming. It was widely accepted that having the Wii as a secondary console was a great choice, even though it was made fun of for the 'wagglan gaems' from time to time. I certainly do not remember people being outraged over the Wii being successful.
Be that as it may, his last tweet is complete nonsense. Gaming became mainstream exactly through the bro-dude market that picked up (console) gaming through the XBox and PS2 era and culminated in a huge market with the PS3 and XBox 360. And that did indeed happen through games like Halo and Call of Duty.
The Wii opened up some other markets, can't deny that, but gaming got mainstream through different means.
And since when are people playing games on smartphones considered 'mainstream gamers'? Last I checked, those were casual gamers. Yeah, the market is huge, but there's a difference between a guy who plays angry birds while waiting for the bus and a guy who's playing Dota all day long.

Yes Dobson please tell us all your opinions about the Wii they're so fresh and relevant and you didn't already write a whole comic series about them

I can't help but notice that "Danny" looks similar to Dobby's arch nemesis the high school bully that tried to friend him on MySpace like a decade after high school.

It's nice to know Dobby has always been too lazy to draw backgrounds.

If anything the twitter abuse is kinda hilarious compared to artists with the slightest ounce of dedication.

Mainly because they tend to use twitter as a means of quick updates, so you might see a twitter sidebar with stuff like "working on (x)" or if any problems arise or stream news and wips. Stuff that's useful for art purposes.

Dobby chooses to act like he's in mortal peril over people making fun of inflation instead.

Remember, anybody who disagrees with Dobson is an outraged lunatic screaming at random passers by, while anybody who agrees is a rational, clear-headed intellectual calmly putting their point across.

Dobson has recently had a mini-rant on Twitter about his interactions with Gamestop, how much he loathes them, and how he hates buying physical copies of games.

What is it with lolcows hating Gamestop?

When I was at the record store, we had plenty of "free" giveaways that you had to fulfill some kind of prerequesite for, usually a purchase, but sometimes a preorder. How much you wanna bet that was the case with this demo disk?

Also, just because you preorder a title doesn't mean you have to take it. I dunno if GS makes you put down a deposit, but damn, even if they did, you'd think he'd just pre-order the game, get the demo disk, then cancel his preorder for a refund.

What a dipshit.

Good job on keeping up to date on the games Dobbo. You're only like a whole generation off.
That's the magic of Dobson. He's always a couple years behind the cool kids. Back around 2000, a lot of people thought webcomics were the future of comics... so Dobson waited until everyone gave up on them to start his own. Web animation was a big deal before streaming video came along, and Dobson was late to that party as well. Twitter, Patreon, podcasting - he always manages to jump on the bandwagon just after everyone else gets sick of it.

You know that episode of Freaks and Geeks where the kid wears a leisure suit to school in an attempt to be cool, but everyone just makes fun of him? That happens to Dobson a couple times a year.

the post about the wii honestly sound more like he's reminiscing, or he's going REMEMBER HOW EVERYONE HATED THAT BUT NOW ITS GOOD.. NOTICE HOW EVERYONE HATES ME... HMMMM??!?!!??!?!?!!!!?!?!?!!?
i expect him to start going on about how "everyone thought lord of the rings was shit, but now everyone loves it... now look at me"
or "they laughed when they said the earth was round"
or "god is dead, god remains dead, and we killed him"
or something

or he's super slow, and he's soon going to post a link to "never gonna give you up" or "over 9000"

That hideous smug ... giant nosed whatever isn't supposed to be the world's most badly drawn cheetah?

Well shit, I even did an attempt to "improve" the design that just falls even more flat on its face now!

(nothing amazing but I got a new tablet and breaking it in a bit, new surface so it's friction-y, ect. Should get better soon, a lot easier on the hand though, should be able to doodle shit more now!)

So true. Never have I seen an artist use twitter as a diary rather than a place for updates. And if they did make it into a diary, it would be on their personal twitter account and blocked from their fans. Dobson instead puts a whole mixture of rants, drawings, and "updates on my arts" into his twitter. It just becomes this giant mess and you wonder if this guy first thing in the morning is to tweet about some random crap and hope it gets a few likes and tweets. And not tweet about a cool drawing he did.

Plus the way he acts on twitter is so unprofessional that any company looking for artists would probably not be interested in Dobson once they take a look at his twitter.

Also for Dobson's pateron, I'm guessing he's not willing to do anything unless his fans pay him more money?
