He hasn't lived in the real world for a long time.
 
I could kind of buy Dobby's excuse that he's not in it for nooky. Most of these men are so pathetic and have such low self-esteems that a woman telling them that they're "not like all those OTHER gross men" is basically sex for them. Again, remember the Borderlands writer who framed a tweet Sarkeesian sent him. These people fetishize women. They certainly don't see them as equals.
 
^ Agreed, I was going to say! Dobson, for quite a few long years of his life on DA, has received NOTHING but mindless praise from all of his fans (and maybe one or two "bad" comments). His comics were consistently on the front page. They had hundreds to thousands of comments on them from all the little 14-year old teenyboppers, and even more faves. The snarling hate didn't come until recently, and even then, he still has a buncha people who want nothing more than to see his "hi-larious" comics and go back to drawing.

Dobson must still be living in that dream world. Always needs something to complain about; nothing is ever good enough.
 
Imma compare Nooky Bear to a couple friends of mine who also do art on dA. Names are concealed to protect the identities of the innocent:

Artist A
---
-Draws a webcomic with semi-regular updates. Prone to schedule slippage, but the quality of the comic makes up for it.
-Sizeable following of fans. Talks with fans about various things and as equals.
-Very receptive to criticism and advice on how to improve artwork.
-Uses social media to chat with friends. Comments about GamerGate (they are not a fan), but doesn't use social media as a soapbox.
-Married, living with husband and childhood friend who both work for a living.
-Makes money from commissions and comic via donations. Offers incentives.
-Professional quality artwork.
-Friendly and approachable.
-Does not have an article on ED.

Artist B
---
-Draws a webcomic that updates twice weekly. Schedule slippage is minimal.
-Small cult following of fans whom she talks with as equals.
-Receptive to criticism and advice on how to improve artwork.
-Doesn't use social media, is a fairly private person online.
-Lives with parents, between jobs.
-Makes modest profit from commissions and donations
-Draws very well.
-Friendly if somewhat shy.
-Does not have an article on ED.

Artist C
---
-Posts drawings. Doesn't do a webcomic at present.
-Very tiny following of friends
-Receptive to criticism and advice on how to improve artwork.
-Uses social media to talk with friends. Doesn't use as a soapbox.
-Lives with parents, works minimum wage.
-Doesn't ask for money, just draws.
-Somewhat amatuerish, but loves to draw for the sake of it.
-Friendly, if eccentric.
-Doesn't have an article on ED.

Nooky Bear
---
-Hasn't posted shit for ages.
-Following consisting of trolls, weens, worried onlookers, people in it for the ride, and a very small handful of actual fans. Treats followers as an annoyance.
-Reciprocates criticism and advice with spite and childish insults
-Uses social media as a political soapbox and a possible masturbatory aid in regards to Wu
-Lives with parents, no job
-Made some money from comics in the past, now resorts to e-beggary via Patreon
-Artistic skill has degenerated from competent to stick figure drawings. Perhaps he suffered a stroke?
-Has an article on ED.
 
Does Dobbers actually live with his parents? People say they've been his MCAD student intern in the Minneapolis area as recently as 2012; we know The Dob is originally from Quincy, Massachusetts because he went on and on about having a book signing there and showing his girlfriend his old high school and John Quincy Adams's grave.

Okay, some Nancy Drewing happened, and I learned Dobkin's parents now live in Central Mass. (Not far from Jace!) Dobson père has what looks like a thriving business as a litigation consultant and expert witness, so if the parents are supporting el Dobbo, they're likely not bankrupting themselves to do so.

If a guy that looked like a hairy potato in a fedora started fervently chatting me up about feminism I would definitely think he was thirsty.

If you're going to use socio-political ideologies to get into my pants, at least have the decency to be kind of hot.

Dobson probably isn't arrogant as much as he is just insecure and afraid to fail. That's also why he never applies for any real job; He's afraid of real rejection. His whole life up to this point has been a complete failure, so he has to constantly remind himself how great he is. When somebody gives him constructive criticism, it interferes with that idea so he flies into a rage. His refusal to improve is not so much because he doesn't want to, but more because it would prove his critics right that he made a mistake in the first place, and he would never want to admit that.

Also "reverse" drawing, like putting shapes and such into complete drawings to get a feel for construction! That too!

Also lol at ANY SJW who whines about people feeling "threatened" by new people in "their" group... when they totally show that exact behaviour to bronies. Like EXACT. Except even more over the top.
