It COULD have been a gambit to say 'Look how much I need the services!' as well. He has done this in the past, too. Ratcheted up his behavior when something important is coming up as a way to 'prove' it. Could this have backfired? Definitely. It has in the past. Hard to ever tell with Andrew.

The NYS-APS investigation is on his chart, and states:

-Andy does NOT have autism.

-Andy researches and FAKES the symptoms.

-Andy does have something wrong with him, but it's schizoaffective disorder. Mental health rather than developmental disability.

-Further testing is pointless because Andy "studies" for the ADOS autism test

-Andy will never get another Fair Hearing in NYS because it has been conclusively proved that he does not have autism, nor did he demonatrate any other developmental disability before the age of 22, so he can NEVER receive NYS-OPWDD services.


It's a gambit to try to bypass the testing, get put on a 302, have "autism" put on his intake ("pt. complains of autism"), and have some overworked emergency psych record it as his diagnosis, to at least create confusion and buy him time.
