The idea that food is “rotting” in your stomach because digestion is slower is the dumbest take I’ve heard in a while.

Semaglutide does slow down the digestive system, meaning decomposing food is giving off gases within the intestinal system. Everything gets backed up. It’s a level of gastroparesis (differs between people and is not always reversible when ceasing the medication), which if you’ve never experienced, you can’t appreciate. It’s the slowing of the digestive system that is the mechanism that causes weightloss in people as they become too uncomfortable to eat as they usually do. That being said, Amber is not on a dosage likely to cause her issues.

Her A1C was 5.3. Not even close to pre-diabetic. Then again it would be interesting to see what it was prior to starting on the Semaglutide injections. I’m not sure a doctor would prescribe Semaglutide for someone with a <5.5 A1C. The danger of hypoglycaemia would be pretty significant. I’m not sure I’m buying that medical report as being hers.

Yes it would! If we're going down the route of things in the body that are bad for you, such as rotting food, your body will absolutely reject it. This is what happens in food poisoning - your body wants to get anything inside of you be on the outside of you as fast as possible. If you've ever had salmonella poisoning you will be familiar with the process.
