The newest insult blacks seem to use online is calling white people Neanderthals. Which is fucking hilarious when 20% of their genetic makeup is from an archaic hominid similar to Homo Erectus.
That’s such a self-own because Neanderthals were highly intelligent, to the point of being intellectually comparable to early Homo sapiens. All early groups of humans interbred with other hominids, and Neanderthals were quite possibly the most highly evolved species we know about. The stereotype of them as dimwitted, violent cavemen is a myth. Same for Denisovans. Interestingly, Europeans and East Asians have the most admixture from both of these ancient hominids.
Current evidence suggests that Homo erectus was a less intelligent species than Neanderthals, and higher percentages of erectus ancestry are found in people from southwest Asia, Melanesia, and India.
Most people of sub-Saharan African descent carry ancestry from unidentified "ghost" populations of hominids that didn’t migrate but were isolated on the continent for thousands and thousands of years. The fossil record is almost nonexistent since the hot humid climate degraded most of it.
The two best guesses scientists have for which known subspecies could be the closest to these unknown ghost populations are the Homo naledi (not comparable in intelligence to Neanderthals) and the Homo heidelbergensis (a bit more comparable, Neanderthals invented much more sophisticated tools). Still, we don’t
actually know the hominid lineage that dominated Africa. These are more like best case scenarios (both Neanderthals and Denisovians split from Homo heidelbergensis, so even
that is still one step behind in evolution).
All that is to say: lacking Neanderthal ancestry isn’t exactly a flex, evolutionarily speaking.
