No one said Romania wasn't anti-Semitic. The point is that your specifically related family history, that your great-grandfather was orphaned in a pogrom, is at odds with the historiographic record. Your grandfather was not an orphan when he arrived here. So either you lied to us, or your family lied to you.

Fair, and a generous thing to do. I might not like Tom, but I agree with you. Especially because a lot of the services do cost money, that's a nice gesture.

i wasn't lashing out at you, but all the other assholes i wasn't responding to. sorry it appeared that way. i should have addressed you and the question first and then shit on the fuckwits.

Tommie, Tressa got married to Jacob Greenstone and is buried in New Jersey. They had three children.

i suspect that's nonsense about Simon. there is no record of that person in anything i've ever seen. Julius came over in the company of aunts is the way the story goes and there were three more children, Sydney, Allen and Sylvia. There is only one person alive who would know about that, Tressa's daughter Sissy. I'll reach out to her son and ask him.

OT, so I'll keep this short, but have you had more success with any specific site or source? I've been trying to learn more about my own family. Nice work here, btw. Sometimes family stories don't always line up with facts, which can be good or bad depending. Hopefully Tommie takes you up on your generous offer!

The words misused this time are "project" and "irrational." Also not sure how us discussing the circumstances of your ancestors immigrating to America is "embellished by [our] own paraphilic fantasies;" we're talking about census records, not your documented admissions of fingering dogs and underage girls.

Mine isn't the only family named Wasserberg and i'm telling you that nobody has ever mentioned any Simon or spoken of Julius as anything other than an orphan.

So it's a totally different Wasserberg family that just so happens to all have the same first names. That checks out.
