A raw video from a mom in the hospital is blowing up on X right now. She’s filming her 9-year-old son hooked up to monitors and an IV after he apparently ate a whole pack of THC gummies and hit a vape pen that another kid gave him at school.

The post from @LASHYBILLS already has millions of views in just a few hours. It’s an 8-minute-and-45-second clip pieced together like a collage, showing the little boy in a hospital gown, looking out of it moving slow, eyes glazed or closed, not really responding much. His mom, wearing a red and black head wrap, is right there holding up a black-and-red vape pen and a pack of “Blue Razz” THC gummies while she talks straight to the camera. The room has those bright underwater-themed walls you see in kids’ hospitals.

She says another child at school passed him the stuff. He ate the entire pack, and it hit him hard and fast he couldn’t talk right or see clearly. She’s warning other parents about what this can do to a kid’s developing brain and how shocked she was at how quick it got bad. The original caption on X is pretty much:

THC gummies are edibles, so they pack a stronger, longer punch than smoking or vaping. In little kids, it can cause what’s called “greening out” they get super disoriented, sluggish, have trouble speaking or focusing, heart racing, maybe throwing up. Their brains are still growing, so it hits way harder. Usually they recover with fluids, monitoring, and time in the hospital, but it looks terrifying while it’s happening. Doctors say there’s no solid proof that a one-time THC exposure like this causes permanent problems with speech or vision those kinds of claims go further than what we normally see in these cases.

This isn’t the first time something like this has popped up. Back in 2023, a 9-year-old in Escondido, California, ended up in the hospital after a classmate gave him THC gummies at North Broadway Elementary four third-graders got sick that day. There have been similar reports in other states too, where kids share these candy-looking edibles on campus and someone ends up in the ER. Poison control numbers back it up: cases of young kids getting into cannabis products shot up big time as edibles became more common.

These videos gain popularity instantly on X since they hit the heart of every parent’s worst fears about their children being exposed to dangerous drugs at school without any parental supervision. The reason for the popularity of this video lies in its realism and the maternal warning that comes with it. Some people empathize with the child who appears in the video while others criticize the mother for shooting the video without paying attention to her son. There are other people who criticize the schools for not making enough effort.

However, one must understand that THC candies look identical to regular candies in terms of appearance and taste, which makes them easily exchangeable among children. Nonetheless, in terms of this specific case, it remains uncertain whether the video accurately depicts the story or not. At present, there are no details about the school’s location and name and no other official information confirming the validity of the report.

Parents and schools are still arguing over how to handle this in a world where weed is more legal and available than ever.

It's probably best. At a certain threshold weed becomes pretty strongly psychedelic, like, unpleasantly so.
Pretty sure this poor little bastard hit that threshold in record time. He's about 100 pounds underweight to be ingesting that much (I know people who partake regularly, and even THEY wouldn't try it), plus depending on the vape those things can be loaded to the gills since they are fucking unregulated and companies keep pushing the envelope even further on their strength.

Hoipefully this adds fuel to the much needed fire of 'Yah, we need to step in and put a stop to this" fire. No reason in hell anyone should be able to even accidently ingest that much, and turning it all into candy and flavored vapes? The Ciggarete corps eventually got their shit pushed in for this same crap, no reason these dolts shouldn't get the same damn treatment.

Article is clearly AI slop.

...And there's a decent chance the video is as well.

Nonetheless, this is something that totally could happen and obviously isn't great when it does. Still less bad (as a medical emergency) than a kid drinking an entire bottle of vodka and having to get their stomach pumped, though.

Man this happened in April, hoodrat probably finally came down about now. He alright, time to drink some water and lotion up.

Kid def got into his mom's stash.
This came to mind. or daddy (which I was shocked that he even had one at home considering) 's stash and now they are blaming the school as mentioned this creature already has one case with another kid. this would fuck up that case and possibly open a new one for this one.

I'd bet it was what happened considering the "elaborate" story she was spouting. It's easy to say it happened at school and got worse at home - which i doubt would actually happen considering those would've hit much sooner.

Not all of them.

Anyway, I think this is bullshit. What kid just gives up an entire bag of 'candy' to their retarded friend? He stole it.
Also mom has hand tattoos.
So, this. This story doesnt smell quite right, and it aint the grass.

THC distillate is what a lot of commercial edibles are made with now. Its basically flavorless in many things.

Old school stoners will tell you theyre not as good and theres some science to back that up. But "whole plant" edibles are now boutique, and marked sky high at retail - but totally possibe to DIY. These have the unmistakable taste *usually*. (Theres some side bar chemistry nerdery I could detail here but its irrelevant)

That aside, thats not why this doesnt sound right. Its basically the 1980s/1990s dare playbook of a scare story.

Also why the fuck is your 9 year old willing to hit a vape pen? Theres the parenting fail no matter what else happened here.

Realistically I would be most worried about what whacky alternative cannabanoid mess they shoved into the pen than I would the actual THC edibles.

I strongly bet this was mom or dads stash and they made the story up.to try to dodge CPS. If it happened at all.

I feel like this is the endgame. Public schools are being gimped to make private and charter schools profitable.
The would-be aristocrats don't want private or charter schools to be available to anyone other than their own.

Correct. I take low-dose edibles (5mg) every once in a blue moon. Granted, I buy expensive stuff and not cheap nigger weed, so it may vary, but the gummies I keep squirreled away neither smell nor taste of weed even faintly. But that being said, that little nigga absolutely knew what they were regardless - his mistake was that he didn't realize what they'd do to him because he's a dumb kid. And to be fair, it's a mistake I see a lot of adults make.

Stoners are fucking retards and one reason among many is that they are generally extremely misleading about how strongly pot affects the average person. They consume it all day, every day. They've built up an absurd tolerance and need 100mg to feel even the slightest buzz. They forget you aren't like them. But I promise you, a modern day "weak" 5mg gummy will send you to the clouds if you're skinny and have no tolerance. Tolerance also resets very quickly if you're an occasional user. I ventured beyond 5mg one time on accident, only slightly, and I had a very unpleasant night of watching baseball while counting down the hours until I sobered up - So I can only imagine the absolute hell that nigglet put himself through to look "hard" for his friends.

Also extremely correct. Edibles? Probably fine. They're all lab tested to an almost neurotic degree and have to be in order to be sold by a licensed dispensary. Vapes? You can get those online and the chemicals inside are something I'd never risk even on my worst day. My idiot stoner friend had one one day, so I googled the brand. Found warnings on reddit that the heating element was coated in chemicals like WD40 and other such nonsense, which was then heated up and vaporized with the juice.
Also why the fuck is your 9 year old willing to hit a vape pen? Theres the parenting fail no matter what else happened here.
And finally, yes. This is the core of the issue. The buck stops with mom. Mom let this happen.

If I double posted, I'm sorry and I'll try to delete it. I made another comment but it seemed to disappear when I posted due to a verification error and it hasn't reappeared.
