A raw video from a mom in the hospital is blowing up on X right now. She’s filming her 9-year-old son hooked up to monitors and an IV after he apparently ate a whole pack of THC gummies and hit a vape pen that another kid gave him at school.

The post from @LASHYBILLS already has millions of views in just a few hours. It’s an 8-minute-and-45-second clip pieced together like a collage, showing the little boy in a hospital gown, looking out of it moving slow, eyes glazed or closed, not really responding much. His mom, wearing a red and black head wrap, is right there holding up a black-and-red vape pen and a pack of “Blue Razz” THC gummies while she talks straight to the camera. The room has those bright underwater-themed walls you see in kids’ hospitals.

She says another child at school passed him the stuff. He ate the entire pack, and it hit him hard and fast he couldn’t talk right or see clearly. She’s warning other parents about what this can do to a kid’s developing brain and how shocked she was at how quick it got bad. The original caption on X is pretty much:

THC gummies are edibles, so they pack a stronger, longer punch than smoking or vaping. In little kids, it can cause what’s called “greening out” they get super disoriented, sluggish, have trouble speaking or focusing, heart racing, maybe throwing up. Their brains are still growing, so it hits way harder. Usually they recover with fluids, monitoring, and time in the hospital, but it looks terrifying while it’s happening. Doctors say there’s no solid proof that a one-time THC exposure like this causes permanent problems with speech or vision those kinds of claims go further than what we normally see in these cases.

This isn’t the first time something like this has popped up. Back in 2023, a 9-year-old in Escondido, California, ended up in the hospital after a classmate gave him THC gummies at North Broadway Elementary four third-graders got sick that day. There have been similar reports in other states too, where kids share these candy-looking edibles on campus and someone ends up in the ER. Poison control numbers back it up: cases of young kids getting into cannabis products shot up big time as edibles became more common.

These videos gain popularity instantly on X since they hit the heart of every parent’s worst fears about their children being exposed to dangerous drugs at school without any parental supervision. The reason for the popularity of this video lies in its realism and the maternal warning that comes with it. Some people empathize with the child who appears in the video while others criticize the mother for shooting the video without paying attention to her son. There are other people who criticize the schools for not making enough effort.

However, one must understand that THC candies look identical to regular candies in terms of appearance and taste, which makes them easily exchangeable among children. Nonetheless, in terms of this specific case, it remains uncertain whether the video accurately depicts the story or not. At present, there are no details about the school’s location and name and no other official information confirming the validity of the report.

Parents and schools are still arguing over how to handle this in a world where weed is more legal and available than ever.

With that obligatory KF A&N line, the core issue is that obviously parent (no mention of father lmao) have fucked up rising up the kid that likely was given a tablet and left to his own devices, yes kids are stupid but the common drilled line 'do not accept shit from strangers' is precisely reason why you follow it otherwise shit like this happens and seems the kid did not get the memo. Maybe they're right that chimpress recording this is doing this as a publicity stunt or pity points but maybe will serve as a decent PSA why you don't go chasing after muh bixnood culture, not at least when a single gummy can fuck you up into a schizophrenic state.

Maybe the kid will be taught a lesson and get scared of drugs in general, or will join the black masses in living with no recall further than last half hour. Who fucking knows.

"I didn' raize mah kid rite so errybody betta be carefool! Imma sue da skool, da parents errybody! best believe! Imma taek dis to tha internez foh sho foh mah attenshion. Look at mah childz! LOOK AT JOONIUR! MUH INSTINKZ TOLD MEH!" *decides to film him during this moment instead of just fucking acting normal*

Natural selection at work. Not like the bloodline is leading anywhere anyways.

What even is the treatment for this? Hooking you up to an IV and letting you sleep it off?
Closely monitoring to make sure he doesn't stop breathing or throw seizures. Depending on how many he ate and how long ago they might pump his stomach to get rid of whatever hasn't been digested and absorbed yet. Or good old activated charcoal cocktail followed by syrup of Ipecac to make him projectile puke it out. They likely also hit him with narcan just in case anything else is laced into the gummies or vape. It gets run as a child ingesting a non caustic poison. They'll also be pulling blood and urine to make sure he isn't suffering anything like renal shutdown. There's really nothing they can do about whats in his system beyond monitor and wait it out.

Idk, that sounds like what celebrities claim when their kids od on their stash: 'they uh, found it! Not here, obviously. In school. Yup.'

The footage of the kid shrieking in pain is utterly horrifying. Yet another reason not to send your kid to a public school: the spawn of some unspayed junkie rummages through their supply and trades it to your kid while the incompetent teachers are none the wiser.

That's all it says in the article. If the drugs were recently consumed orally they can administer activated charcoal or a stomach pump. But other than that probably just symptom management like an antiemetic for vomiting or an anxiolytic for agitation.

The kid who stole all that is probably getting his ass beaten by his mom's boyfriend and the boyfriend doesn't have any weed gummies to chill the fuck out.

That's called MRE -- Marijuana Related Emesis. You'll barf up all the edibles. However, next line...

I can agree it's not a good idea to expose growing kids to THC.

I mean, I guess.
HAHAHA, NO. Weed candy tastes like weed. Even subtly. You'll know it's an edible and can spit it out.
"He couldn't see or talk!"
Just give the kid a Pedialyte and sit him in front of Cartoon Network until he recovers.
