2024 Syrian opposition offensives - The first Syrian rebel offensive against Government forces since March 2020

Wtf this is normative Orthodox understanding man, calm down my mench.
The "normative Orthodox understanding" of the identity of the Anti-Christ has been, at various times, "it's the Pope" to "Peter the Great" to "guy who makes a deal with the Jews then betrays them once they help him take over the world" to "guy who thinks he really is Christ" to "Jew from the tribe of Dan" to "vague 1990s-NWO puppetmaster who may or may not be a Jew"

Don't try to piss on me and tell me it's raining lol

Legitimately shocked how quickly FAFO came for the "rebels". I expected at least a few weeks of them taking pics with the locals saying they're intersectional feminists now like the Taliban did. But nah Israel is just rawdogging everyone like it's 1974.

I think it is more about Russia failing at everything than Israel winning.

I'm actually surprised the Syrian army & pro-government militias didn't do a retreat to the coast where support for the Ba'athist government is/was strongest like in 2012-2013.

From what I hear from friends who follow the war more closely than I these days is the Ba'athist forces pretty much descended into warlordism from 2020 onwards with most military & militia commanders having little real loyalty to the Regional Command of the Ba'ath Party. As a result no effective response could be mounted especially with the command structure paralysed by Israeli airstrikes.

Funny because that is pretty much what happened with the Syrian Opposition shortly after the outbreak of the war.

According to Revelations, Damascus needs to be completely destroyed (bricks turned to glass - suggesting a Nuclear weapon or a meteor) before the Ezekiel wars are supposed to begin, setting the stage for the arrival of the Antichrist. I'd say we are still a far ways out before any of that happens.

Putin really sacrificed two of his allies (Armenia and Syria) to Turkish backed forces because he wanted to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of soldiers for a couple oblasts in Ukraine.
Typical Putin 12D chess move. NATO is finished.

the US has around 6000 Abrams in storage, they're not building new ones because they don't need new hulls, much like how Russia is actually building few new tank hulls and has been chewing through their storage
Small point of order:
General Dynamics IS building new M-1 hulls for foreign customers. They are not building new M-1 hulls for the US market. If the export market dried up, the US would likely order a small quantity of new hulls to keep the factories running but there is no need to do that currently.

Compare this to the French LeClerc or Br*ish Challenger III where the factories for both have been shuttered for over a decade but they continue to cope that they could restart production if needed.

It will be interesting to see if the Russians get all their troops out now that the remaining bases are within manpad range. In theory, there is no real upside for the Rebels to massacre the Russians but since they aren't exactly the most disciplined bunch and ate russian air strikes for nine years they might not care. Either way, unlikely Russia can do anything about it now.
Provided no one does anything utterly retarded:
Russian troops will be allowed to leave the country. It won't be worth the headache and pissing off the international community to try to hold them, and given how rat fucked the judiciary is any attempt to try them is going be an islamic kangaroo court. Almost certain they will get horse traded to Russia in exchange for equipment being "abandoned".

Wagner forces will be more dubious. Russian Citizens, especially low-ranking ones, have good odds of going back home. Its POSSIBLE they might try to hold on to some of the higher-ranked guys for show trials, but no one (especially the US) wants contractors to be held responsible for actions in a foreign country by that country, so its very likely unless there are specific individuals they are terminally butthurt over that anyone Russian goes home just with a little more stress.

The Syrians and other dune coons from countries without sabers to rattle who were working with/or wagner... I would not want to be in their shoes.

It'd be like North Vietnam allowing the US to keep operating its base at Da Nang after they took Saigon.
TBCF the US still has Camp X-Ray in Cuba despire the Cubans being terminally butthurt about it - but if they did anything to actually dislodge it, those lease payments.....

The US government has trained and supplied the rebels since 2012.
Lmao no. I understand the point was not to actually provide information but to try and make the United States look like the evil empire arming terrorists but I will explain just who the US has been supporting and a rough timeline.

"The Rebels" are not a monolithic entity. "The Rebels" are a literally hundreds of groups over the course of the last 13 years. Some of them were destroyed, some absorbed by other groups, some changed sides, some changed their ideologies entirely. There are several books written about exactly who "The Rebels" are and how they evolved. The "group" the United States started training and supplying in 2012 was the Free Syrian Army, which itself was an umbrella of over a dozen different units that ascribed more or less to a coherent ideology and had a unified command. They were around only for a few years, and sometime during the whole ISIS thing the vast majority of the remaining members of the FSA fled into Syrian Kurdistan and joined up with them. This is when the US switched away from dealing with the Syrian Civil War to dealing exclusively with ISIS, and at this point the vast majority of military assistance was sent to the YPG and Peshmerga, the Syrian and Iraqi Kurds, respectively. After ISIS was destroyed, the entity we now refer to as "The Kurds" is this mixture of Kurds, Assyrians, Yazidis, and Arab Democrats from the FSA. After ISIS was destroyed, the United States has almost exclusively been providing support to the Kurds. During the war against ISIS, the Syrian government took the opportunity to engage non-ISIS rebel groups, and eventually everyone that wasn't the Kurds were forced inside the Idlib Enclave, which was an area around the Syrian city of Idlib in northern Syria which was effectively under Turkish protection. The Syrians begrudgingly accepted a ceasefire deal mediated by the Turks where they wouldn't press the issue of Idlib. The Idlib Enclave was mostly under the control of the National Salvation Government, which was an islamist group, and eventually it was taken over by HTS. Now, in the ceasefire period there was also this group called the FSAT, or the Free Syrian Army in Turkey, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the original FSA. It was a group propped up by Turkey and they used the FSA name to garner legitimacy. The Turkish used the ceasefire period to arm and train HTS. The United States never supported HTS. The United States still considered HTS to be an AQ affiliate and terror group. Two weeks ago, seeing an opportunity in the form of a weakend Russian and Iranian presence due to the Israeli and Ukrainian wars, coupled with an exhausted SAA, HTS went for broke and the Assad regime collapsed.

Now the country is split essentially into three. HTS controls the center and northwest of the country, the Kurds control the mountainous north, and the south is controlled by a group called the "Southern Operations Room," which is supported by the United States and Israel as a counterbalance to HTS. The SOR rapidly moved in to fill the vacuum left by retreating SAA. Who is the SOR? The SOR is primarily made up of Druze tribesmen and allies of the Druze. Who are the Druze? The Druze are an ethno-religious minority that have long standing beef with Islamic extremism and have a vested interest in not allowing HTS to run roughshod over Syria. They are currently allied with HTS for the purpose of ousting Assad, but have signaled that they do not intend to allow HTS to set up a unitary islamist government over all of Syria.

It's really hard to be against Israel pulling shit when everybody else involved are either;
1) Muslim
2) Muslim but somehow more retarded
3) Pedophile warlords (aka Muslim)
4) Incompetent as shit
5) Cowardly as shit

Y'know, just because Israel wins, means everyone loses. We can sit around with our local Mossad agent and drink to another shitbag Islamic revolution dying ingloriously, because honestly? We can all agree they deserve it, they're Muslims.

I am honestly shocked the regime collapsed so quickly. I'm interested to see the after action of this. I assume national demoralization on the Syrian's part played a large role.
Authoritarian regimes are generally pretty good at putting up a good front and maintaining the appearance of control even when they're hollowed out and one solid offensive from collapsing.

(Which is to say I certainly didn't expect it either, at least now.)

The US has a lot less to gain from diving headfirst into Syria besides that military base they have to get that sweet, sweet oil now that the SAA is no more. I firmly believe he US trying to oust Assad was always more about curbing Iranian and Russian influence in the Middle East than increasing the already high US influence there. Sure, Washington would love it if their puppet in the FSA somehow manages to firmly take power, but the primary goal was to have Assad get a Ghedaffi or have him leave Syria with his tail between his legs.

Yeah this was literally the stated goal. In one of the now declassified cables to Assad, the US promised assistance in return for the Assad regime cutting ties with Hezbollah and terminating the lease for the Russian naval base.

I legit thought 3-6 months before a collapse and abdication, not 11 days. Oh well, guess they are gonna speedrun ethnic violence and reprisals next.

The country ruled by 100 princes raised entirely by palace staff and harems of kidnapped women with fratricidal political violence and absolutely no future if the demand or supply of oil dries up for any reason? The country that is a rump state of the Arabian nation promised to them by the British in the first world war? Which was a nomadic tribe under the Ottoman boot for hundreds of years? The one ran by a fucking cult? The fucking inhospitable desert so food insecure the crowned prince will personally suck your cock if you figure out how to grow a single plant anywhere in their country?

Is this a Muslim I'm responding to? Do you worship a pedophile?
You also forgot the extreme levels of inbreeding in the royal family to the point they have brought in Horse Genelogogists to try to figure out what cousin marriages will produce the least deformed offspring.

A million Syrians, yet none of these lazy fuckers are going to go back home to help rebuild. They don't even care about their own country, what do you think they think of the country they are squatting in?
Of course they don't care about Syria. Its a backwards country full of sandniggers, why would they ever want to go back?

Back to the current theory, given that Trump is ridiculously pro-Israel him giving Ukraine away to get rid of the last stone in Israel's shoe is a no brainer, nobody will care when we abandon Kiev just like we did Kabul, even less this time because its white people and not heckin' BIPOCs. Its very likely the israelis themselves pushed for this, the october kebabloo was a disaster but the bigger disaster was seeing the entire western left turn against them, all the minorities they supported biting the hand that feeds and even the always reliable fundies not caring anymore as most young conservatives are actually neutral or on the side of Palestine now. Meanwhile the number of jews in America is actually dwindling because secular jews as any other secular group barely breeds anymore, the only ones having kids are the useless poor fundie jews who barely ever venture outside their self-imposed ghettos, even in israel itself. In terms of power here in America they're losing to newcomers like chinese and indians who are as nepotistic and power-hungry as they are. So its a race against the clock for israelis, they've to gain as much as they can while they still have the power and getting rid of its biggest frontier risk since Egypt its a must. Iran on the other hand has a combo of economic collapse and S.Korea levels of demographic contraction, plus losing their land bridge means pulling an invasion its next to impossible now, their airforce its museum-tier and its navy wont be allowed thru suez nor gibraltar, its over.
Holy shit I didn't realize they stacked cope this high.

>Be NAFO, assume taking over Syria will be an attempt to go stick it to the vatniggers.
>Vatniggers had a chance a long time ago or a few days ago to leave their 2 military bases.
>Their 2 military bases are still present and the opposition wants to work with the Russians.
Lol, Lmao, LMFAO even, I cant stop laughing at the majority of this thread being dumb asses for seeing this as a win.

Lol this hot take really held up well.

Guess there is a reason why they haven't left a few days ago.
1.Most of the militants are aware that they did 99% of the work in the last Syrian civil war which got them pushed to extinction before, so its enough to be a traumatizing experience they don't want to relive and lose everything again.
2.The SDF might be a bigger priority than to deal with the Russians.
3. They know the Russians are not like the SAA, they actually fight, attacking their bases might give Russians a geopolitical excuse to send their forces through iran and iraq to fuck the euros from getting their gas pipeline from the UAE through syria and Turkey.
4. Russians can be used as a blackmail tool to the west from ordering them around.
5.They can provide intel or military support against the jews in the south and the kurds in the north.

Hope the HTS has no hard feelings from earlier of getting bombed by them. At least the opposition leaders statements conclude he is chill with the 2 Russian military bases remaining there unless people here have, "Actual sources" that say otherwise.
Its not how HTS feels its how Turkey feels.
But they aren't going to start a beef with Russia-proper unless Russia does something utterly retarded first.

Well the Ukraine war has taught everyone 1. They know when to retreat when the situation calls for it. 2. they keep surrounding the Ukrainians constantly in pincer attacks or outflanking them in all sides on whoever has seen a Ukraine war map before.

I think it was my foolish mistake to assume the SAA were anything like the eastern europeans in the Ukraine war. Even the Serbs put up a better fight lasting a good amount of time against NATO
And yet Russia lost terrority to a smaller country it invaded three years ago. Pure tactical supremacy, yessir.
I'm gonna Cauldroooooooooooooooooooooooooon

This is really low IQ. The US is going to make sure this country is completely fucked forever. I assume the only reason we care is Israel.
