I love how, no matter what your perspective on tranz issues is, there is literally no perspective that can see what happened to Phil as a reasonable solution. I can't speak to WHY this was allowed to happen, but there's no way to convince me it's not a very, very big mistake for everyone involved.

No. It takes time to heal after surgery. Two important things contribute to healing better and faster: sanitation and good general health. Both are completely foreign to Phil.
