I’m beginning to think that his main audience aren’t kids simply based on what time he starts his first stream and the amount of insanity I’ve been seeing lately from known adult fans. Blind adult man who has fiancé with health issues gives money to Phil. Sad widower gives hundreds of dollars to Phil as some kind of validation or coping method for his loneliness?
Of course Phil ignites all the serious stuff attached to that money:
“PlanetJeff tips $200: my wife passed away but watching you helps.”
Phil reads it in his head.
Phil: “whoa thanks PlanetJeff for the $200 tip! That will definitely help with my taxes.”
No empathy shown in the slightest. That is a defining sign of a sociopath. Imagine supporting a sociopath?

To be fair, in the past Dave said he was sorry for him. He is also not the King of Suffering, probably because he burned his money on Phil. What I do find quite disgusting is how, despite the circumstances, he does NOT say: Hey Planetjeff, thank you so very much and I'm sorry for your loss, BUT please you don't have to use this money on me, it belongs to you, I feel very bad accepting this.

Phil paints an "us vs. them" narrative. He wants people to think he's some struggling underdog. People project on Phil and donate to stick it to detractors because in their mind they somehow think it is a giant middle finger to those mean bullies, just like they wish they could always do to the people who (probably rightly) bullied them in real life.
Is it stupid? Absolutely, but no stupider than anything else Phil's supporters do. I don't have any evidence backing it up, but it feels like there's been less people donating with "take that" style messages aimed at detractors. It is by no means gone, but it seems like it was more common a year or two ago. I think in general his fans are starting to sour on the "us vs. them" narrative because Phil has leaned too heavily into that narrative and there's not as much detractor content like 6 hour long SoK podcasts. Even in chat where there's still "fuck off detractor" style comments, some of his fans are rightly pointing out that the "detractors" in question are just Twitch randos or hell, sometimes actual long time fans just disagreeing with Phil's BS about network lag or getting 300 headshots when aiming at someone's torso.

So I'm watching the first part of this Retro$pective and he says "I will be taking breaks every hour or two, grabbing snacks and stuff to keep me going." This is some top tier old man shit. This guy gets worn out camping in a bathroom. I guess those lean in manual bans wear him out.
I throw back beers, do bong hits, and play EU4 until the wee hours. Then in the morning I wake up and go to my real adult job. No snack breaks.

When he scrolls through his full video list chronologically, he's watched at least a third of his gameplay videos and half of his vlogs. I'd suggest that he lays on the couch at 2 AM and lets YouTube play through his own content, but like he proved yesterday the YouTube algorithm will try to get him away from his own videos as quickly as possible.

See, when you built your career on shitting out multiple videos daily just to fool the algorithm, haven't put a single inkling of passion in your content is uninspired shit, it's really hard to remember any particular video.
Any other creator could talk about the production of the video, what he had in mind while making it, what he used to make it etc.. but with DSP this is not needed. We can see his whole creative process while making these videos.
DSP Tries It: explain what food is, eat food, lip smack, give it a retarded rating, upload video
Gameplay: Set up camera, record, upload
Vlahgs: Start recording, blabber, stop recording, upload

YT has been around long enough for folks to do specials where they look back at their old videos. While most if not all I've watched saw the YT-er cringing at their old work and often disagreeing with their old selves stating how little they knew back then and how their opinions have changed due to having grown up and all the things about games and game development they have learned. D$P? He thinks his old videos are just grand going so far as to say that this old camera method videos did things better than direct capture ( such as not being able to hear everything in the game which he finds distracting and takes away from listening to his stellar commentary). D$P finds nothing wrong with his old self spouting racist, sexist and homophobic remarks stating it was acceptable back then...which racism and sexism were not a good decade before he was even born. Makes one wonder if he was raised in a racist, sexist and homophobic household to have formed such opinions.
