The problem with Screamers is that the robots are really clichéd slasher movie villains. Lots of stalking/waiting around for the sake of suspense.

These things are supposed to be the ultimate killing machines. But they became too smart which had the unintended side effect of making them dumb. Becker is quoting Shakespeare to show he's malfunctioning. THE TEDDY BEAR'S A SCREAMER TOO?! Make it make sense.

The Purge 2 & 3. Stupid? Absolutely. Am I entertained? God yes.

The same goes for Pacific Rim: Uprising. Stupid as fuck but Charlie Day with alien brain sex is quite funny, and I love big monsters vs robots.

Other mentioned movies: Showgirls, Waterworld, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Jingle all the way, Hudson Hawk... Liked them all.

If you ever get the chance watch the AMC channel cut of Showgirls, it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Because it's network television they heavily censored it and did it in the most incompetent way possible.

It's like 13 minutes long and they edited it so in most scenes they only show the actors from the neck up so it looks like a movie about severed heads talking.

Tartarus deleted my post. So I'll just say I enjoyed Scott Pilgrim and not elaborate any further. If you're under 25, try the comic. The film is hot garbage compared to the source material.

Bronx Warriors... I had to look that one up. It's a 1982 movie, but for some reason listed as 1990?!? Anyhow, I saw this one on VHS (probably in 1982/83, I'm confused by the 1990 listing) when my pops rented it for me one weekend from the local Video rental store (Pre Blockbuster, they ended up taking this place over). I liked it then, but haven't seen it again since. Gotta love a movie where the main character's name is "Trash".

EDIT:, lol, 1990 is part of the movie's title. I had completely forgotten about that.

The first three are truly good films; well-made, good casting, and actually entertaining. If you just treat those specific ones as a trilogy, it's a fun time capsule of '80s cheese. I just ignore everything beyond those ones.

House is a great, fun romp. "2pm on a Sunday on TBS" might be my favorite genre of horror/sci-fi. Other movies that fit in this category: My Science Project, The Gate, Ice Pirates, Cherry 2000, Battle Beyond the Stars, Robot Jox/Wars, Evolver, Circuity Man, and I'm going to stop here because I could keep listing them for hours.

Oh, and Freejack. Now I'm done.
 
Danny McBrides Arizona (2018) is a guilty pleasure despite it being critically panned. I picked it up at a dollar tree and was pleasantly surprised by how well it balanced the horror with comedy and how it reframed his comedic persona as an impulsive sociopathic manchild who cant take accountability for his actions.

Logan Lucky (2017) - The trailer trash Ocean's 11.

Red (2010) - The Jason Bourne movies but played for laughs.

Burn After Reading (2008) - Pretty much like Red if they were all stupider than they think they are.

The first one made me laugh even harder when it was on TV here and they censored it "for a modern audience", so that in the driving test bit where Hooks runs over the racist guy's foot and he yells "YOU DUMB FAT JIGABOO" they cut the line, so it looks like she runs him over, he doesn't react at all, and then Hightower attacks him for no reason. They cut out all the racism and then it wasn't clear that the bad guys were bad at all because they never did or said anything and the black people just chimped out unprovoked.

I like the 1999 "Beowulf" movie.
Is it in any way faithful adaption to the source material? Lmao no. Does it have awesome special effects and fighting chorerography? No. But I still can't help but love the cheesy look and overall feel of the movie.

In the first few minutes you see people with very impractical equipment and armor trying to fight a supernatural monster. It then goes over to a warband who besiege the super-murder-death-castle of the protagonists for no other reason than to kill everyone who tries to get out or in. The hero, who apparently is supposed to be anything like Beowulf, then appears, fights back the entire warband on his own and saves a woman they wanted to execute. After the woman realises that the hero actually wants to get in the castle, she flees back to the warband who this time just kill her instantly.
The rest of the movie keeps the same tone of cheesyness, so I just lay back and enjoy the over the top post-apocalyptic shlock.

Burial Ground

One of the absolute most retarded Italian zombie movies, with some elements that are just mind blowing in their awfulness, compounded with one of the dumbest endings ever.

I am seriously about to order it on 4K.

Dracula Dead And Loving It. My first exposure to Mel Brooks and I seriously don't get the hatred. Great parody of Coppola's film, Leslie's and Mel's bickering to get the last word in their scenes together is simple but effective, Peter MacNichol is hilarious as Renfield, Lynette Anthony's tits, the geyser of blood when Jonathan has to stake Lucy, the daymare sequence. I easily put it above Robin Hood Men In Tights as the funnier movie, and I love RHMIT.
