Unpopular opinions about food

Sriracha is ok but it is not all the things people say it is, it's hipster ketchup and like ketchup it's too sweet. I don't know if it's still going on but it was sort of the successor to "put bacon on everything to make it better" meme.
I'm not sure how unpopular that is. I more or less agree with it. It's good on the kind of foods it complements, but it isn't some kind of universal sauce to be put on everything. For instance, it's great to top bibimbap. It's generally good with Vietnamese and Thai food that needs spicing up a bit. And I like it on scrambled eggs, which is the only thing I put ketchup on other than hamburgers.

My main "put it on everything" hot sauce is plain old Tabasco, which can't be beat.

Anyway I went into make a definitive statement, Bagels are the king of breads. Could you imagine taking any other bread, spreading it with cream cheese and calling it a Sandwhich? No, it would suck. Hell it only works with Bagels because a good Bagel has a unique texture along with the variety of flavors delis and bakers sell.
Bagels actually suck, especially if your argument hinges on "Well you have to find a REAL, AUTHENTIC bagel from x place in NYC and they can only use water from there and blahblahblah".

Pretzels made with lye beat the shit out of bagels every time, you can pair them with different types of mustards or cheeses and they can be made a lot of different ways.

Sourdough is worth it, but you gotta get sourdough that has a bit of bite to it, its gotta be crusty but its strength is in how versatile it is--it has to have structure though, those super soft breads that get stuck in/between your teeth are the worst except for maaybe eating with barbecue or for like specifically grilled cheese.

I'll agree with you on Pretzels on being a God Tier snack carb but that similarly hinges on you finding a place that makes them. I have 3 delis in my city with good Bagels. Nothing in terms of Pretzels except some German restaurants I guess.

Still not big on sourdough. Not rich/stupid enough to live in Northern California.

I loathe cilantro. It tastes like grass and dish soap, and is only used in troll food/"ethnic food", as the pepper-stunted taste buds of those populations cannot discern the foul, soapy taste of it.
Well yeah, you either have the tastebuds for it or you don't. I happen to have the tastebuds for it so it tastes closer to citrus than soap for me.

Still, there's a reason why you drop out cilantro when cooking for people you don't know.

But you have to go to somewhere that makes them that way, just like you have to go somewhere decent to get a bagel that isn't just bread shaped like one. They're also both immensely better when served immediately after baking.

And for that matter, good bagels are usually dipped in lye, too.

Mac n Cheese is not good at all and should only be eaten by children. “But RP,” you say “you haven’t had my wife’s boyfriend’s version and you will change you mind if you do.”

No, I won’t. I’ve tried everyone’s “amazing” version and it still sucks ass. Kill yourselves you bland-palate-having cucks.
I can eat the Velvetta bowls or Boston Market but that's it. Mac and cheese is disgusting.

Grits are disgusting. So is cornbread. I'm Black so these three dishes are common delicacies in Southern and Black cuisine.

Who the fuck has intestinal fortitude so low that fucking Taco Bell gives you the shits? This is the dumbest food meme I'll never get that just doesn't seem to die.
Eat enough fast food and you'll get the runs.

Soy milk is an abomination. Who invented it? Cereal tastes best with 100% Whole milk. Nothing else.
