Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

Need some ideas for my mage character I'm building up, haven't really decided on what to main up yet or what glamour to throw on.

There's also the Moogle, Namazu, and Dwarf beast tribe quests that help with crafters (although Namazu are the only ones that also let you do them as a gatherer).
Not to mention the Namazu is the best beast tribe, it's basically the Hildibrand of beast tribes that also offers a sweet mount.

I'd give pvp gear a look in the wolves' den pier for glamour if the market board gear isn't interesting to you. I find pvp gear tends to look decently different from the usual stuff without feeling too off, it isn't that hard to get either. Just do frontline roulette for a week during prime time in your data center and you should get most of what you care about.

As far as what to main. Play Red Mage if you want the easiest time and to spam raise retards that stand in fire, Summoner if you want to have to relearn your class multiple times as you level and deal with some (incredibly flashy) pet jank, and Black Mage if you want to take the challenge of maintain uptime on a class designed to turret 90% of the time.

Stormblood's "writing" is pretty insufferable to get through prettymuch the whole way through, but the upshot (at least for Shadowbringers) is that most of its worst elements just get wiped off of the table and ignored. Some of it even gets a re-work of sorts, in that a character once written as "isn't he just the coolest fucking guy he's so cool this is such a cool guy don't you think he's fucking cool" instead becomes evil Fortinbras.

Is probably one of the biggest wastes of potential I've ever seen in this game. I was so looking forward to a character who'd actually replace Gaius as someone who is for the Empire and doesn't just come off as some power crazed lunatic, but instead is willing to argue why the Empire is an attempt at a solution to a problem that the world is seemingly incapable of solving itself and thus isn't just "Empire bad". But nope, she's effectively a punching bag for Lyse to hit and yell at so Lyse gets a big fat W after 30 hours of being shit. What a massive waste.

Yeah I second Red Mage for a beginner class, Machinist and Monk are good too.
Just don't play MCH anywhere near parse troons. Poor gunbaby isn't doing too well in the data I've seen posted and mixing the instability that comes with 'competitive' high end MMO play and the instability of cutting your dick off seems like it would lead to meltdowns of catastrophic proportions.
But I haven't seen endgame trannies yet. Just regular ones when I leave the comfort of my glorious nippon data centre to make alts and explore the RP servers.
Reminds me of my days visiting Moon Guard. Like white trash gawking at monkeys.

Considering what happens in the post-stormblood content, it feels like Fordola got to live cause we killed off the other mass murdering bitch working for the empire and otherwise she'd be a 100% clone.

Now it gets really good when you get to Shadowbringers, also there is another one like Fordola in the Bozja storyline who is a lot worse.

Fordola gets to live because she quickly proves to be useful and actually helps before heading off back to her cell. It always seemed like they were meant to be similar, they just went different directions.

With the FF15 crossover event returning I've been stuck inside the gold saucer farming MGP from GATES and Chocobo racing.
I fucking miss combat. It was fun from what I remember. But that was so long ago I can barely remember my rotation.
Whats the most efficient way to farm these points? Is it worth learning how to play mahjong for?
I got it(200K points) in 2 days, in two different weeks. The first day was a 5ish hour stint exploring and trying everything in the Gold Saucer in depth, and getting the first 125K because I thought it would be a 500K total(I had misread it). The second day was just ticking off all the challenge log bars and doing a few extra gates.

Mahjong is not worth playing for points, Vermillion tutorials are. Participate in a few chocobo races expecting to lose, and do a lot of GATEs.

I made the last of my 200k today (Vermillions really do pay out big time) and got hooked on triple triad, but I might need to go back because I have no idea if the Lucian Prince glamour gear is earned through a quest or through a vendor and I want to pick all that shit up too.

I'm pretty positive it was a quest reward when I did it.

You know, I'm going to defend Stormblood a bit. Specifically, Ford Corolla's fate.

Keeping her alive is not a mercy. Since her Echo is artificial she has no control over it, forcing her to constantly relive other's memories. Since she is surrounded by people she personally fucked over she's forced to feel every bit of pain she inflicted on others. It was also satisfying to see her memories, hear her smug reply like we'd be impressed, then her reading our memories and realizing "oh wait, I'm just a selfish cunt". I think the shattering of her self-delusions and being forced to experience the pain she caused is a most fitting punishment.

Wonderous Trials is also decent-ish for both MGP and XP, if you get second chance points banked up from roulettes, and then get lucky enough to get a "The Feast" spot you can bang one journal out in like 30 mins, if you just get 1 line it gives you 30k, if you're lucky or crafty enough for two it gives you 100k, and the 3 line reward gives you 20 50k cards, so a million

you can get around 5 points for free to re-roll after from doing 1-80 dungeons since you have a chance of lvl 1 to 49 dungeons, and then chances from 10 levels above (i.e 50-59 and 60-69), and guranteed lvl 80s for the most, lvl 80 classes can also easily solo lower level EX-es if they pop up

also, to end, you can use it to EXP in the process via turning the end journal in with the alt job you wish to level, also tomestones but those are the other option besides MGP

I think this part was pretty good although...

I feel for her to some degree and think given her situation she had fine enough justification for her actions even she is obviously an antagonist, I just think she comes off so bad and as such a bitch because she basically doesn't even really have a point anywhere beyond pleading for sympathy and pity. She's effectively a shitty debate opponent for Lyse to out yell at, where I felt with some better writing Fordola would actually have more reason beyond her father dying to be this way and his death just being the final straw instead of the only one.

I think Ala Mhigo sucks as a nation and has since its founding basically if you look into its history. Its only stable time was taxing merchants who went across their land, and otherwise they scrapped by as mercenaries or lived in some Monk temple. So some people with less patriotic attachment realizing that they can just be a vassal to a much larger, more powerful, and seemingly more stable empire and live a pretty good life through servitude then taking up the herculean task of making Ala Mhigo not be shit to me makes sense.

Too bad the Empire is just cartoonishly evil because god forbid they have a point and make the Eorzean Alliance question literally anything. Fuck I hate how Stormblood fucked with the Garlean Empire, I pray Endwalker letting us actually go there helps humanize them even a little bit.

Well, I've finally completed the MSQ. Ran myself broke after finding out there was no catch up gear on the stretches between 5.0-5.55 though. I've heard that some players are overbearing in their desire to help new players with the game. Thankfully, I was given enough space and that allowed me to enjoy taking my time. I'm sure my time spent as a newer player is all the better for it.

Time to hit up the Diadem and Firmament then I guess.

@Zeke Von Genbu

I find Stormblood and to a lesser extent, ShB, to be enormously inconsistent when it came to the Garlean Empire. The expansion proper itself had the Garleans acting like nigh cartoon villains throughout. Would make sense as a standalone.

But then you realise that it's sandwiched between ARR, HW and post-SB patches, all of which tried to humanise the Garleans in one form or the other. ARR had Gaius, who while monomaniacal, had a very pragmatic outlook. Post-HW had Regulus Von Hydrus, who's basically the "good, moral soldier following orders" archetype. Post-SB introduced the pacifist faction of the Empire, who later gave you information on the Weapons. Post-SB also gave you an audience with Varis himself, who again, has a pragmatic streak much like Gaius.

Then ShB immediately shat all over Varis and the Empire by having Zenos kill him, introducing that child-abuser of the Weapons (cbf to even remember his name tbh), and of course whatever Bozja was. It's really bipolar. Of course that might be the point: showing how the Empire fractures under warlords, and the different factions.

WoW-jumping streamers are starting to hit those absurd walls of tens of hours of MSQ that doesn't lead anywhere while the sky is burning. And that's before they hit the content drought of late-game, let alone the absolute meaningless of having all jobs maxed and just standing around all day. WoW is beyond redemption at this point, so I wonder what they'll end up doing once they quit XIV as it doesn't give them 5k viewers anymore.

Pull a Ninja and stream the previous MMO and call out people in the chat calling his stream dead, that'll get them
