There's also a time requirement. I think it's around 160+ hours. So even if you boost to ShB, you'll still have your sprout until you have enough /playtime. Makes it very easy to pick out boosters in Eden Normals and prepare yourself accordingly for the ensuing bad time.

I believe it was mentioned somewhere that Tias many times will leave the tribe and either live in the city or will attempt to challenge Nuhns in foreign tribes and then take their name. Unfortunately I don’t remember what source that was but I think it was the ttrpg source book? I would also speculate that some women might get traded (not like slavery but kind of like how sports teams trade players) or join other tribes if risk of inbreeding or just general discontent happens. So just go with the lion theory it’s probably the one that makes the most sense.
You would like the Masterminds in City of Villains, the City of Heroes expansion. You get three weak minions, two lieutenants and one strong elite(all permanently out and require buffs/heals), on top of being able to summon an additional paragon elite helper on a cooldown and the various temporary power helpers you can spawn from doing content. For RP purposes, the six main minions can all be commanded with individual emotes; one time I put on a show of my character being a game show host and my three robots stood in front of podiums to answer Jeopardy! style questions, separate chat bubbles, affirmative and angry gestures included. Impressed a small crowd that day, it was pretty cool.
As someone who started playing in March, I spent a decent amount of time messing around with sidethings like getting the 2nd stage of one Relic weapon, and levelling 2 alt jobs a bit, and I still didn't have enough playtime to lose my sprout until right after beating Titania as part of the story. If I didn't do anything on the side, I probably wouldn't have lost my sprout until Innocence or Hades.
