The Super Best Friends Super Best Griefing Thread - Matt's a cuck, Liam is a bitch, Pat's a loony and Woolie's Way is now trademarked

I might've stretched that a bit but I'm 1000% sure he said the main characters are based on him and his wife or the hot red catsuit woman is supposed to be just like Leana or some shit.

I already posted a video here showing that the Takeover MC was literally a ripoff of both final fight and streets of rage protags, to the point they had to change his design later. If you think he's "based on Matt" then you're either dreaming or fell for a very obvious joke.

Not defending the game but the reason Matt did so much is because the whole "dev team" was literally just him and the dev. He had to work on everything the dev didnt cause there was no one else.I think Matt was more interested in the experience than in the dream of making a big hit videogame.

Either way, we dont need to make up reasons to hate on Matt, his game already flopped.

I do wonder how much Matt stews with repressed anger over his game tanking.

That's fair. I wasn't trying to make things up and I do believe it was definitely something along the lines of what I said because it's what made me originally laugh the game off completely. It's been so fucking long though, pretty sure it was like end of 2016/early 2017 that he started talking about it.

Maybe a little but shipping a completed game looks a lot better to someone than working on a game that never came out. I’ll bet this is more of a future career move for Matt than anything else so he can maybe get a chance to work with bigger names someday.

DBZ abridged just turned into fanfiction and I hate it
Really safe, really PC fanfiction at that. I couldn't stop rolling my eyes when they started calling everything sexist toward the end of the Cell saga. And that's not even getting into the absolute decline in the quality of the jokes much earlier. After a while it wasn't even an abridged series anymore, it was just full episodes of Dragon Ball Z Kai with some Marvel-tier quips thrown in.

But that's off topic, of course.

Did The TakeOver really flop? Genuinely curious.

I'm looking at Steam reviews, and the reception is pretty good. Doesn't seem like it was a box office blockbuster, but 577 reviews is solid. They say that, on average, you get 50-60 sales per one review, so this gives us an estimate of 30,000 copies sold on Steam alone, give or take.

Even if the ratio is skewed because of Matt's fans and it only sold 20,000 copies, that's still nothing to sneeze at for your first project. Some devs would kill their pets for these numbers.

If you bought that POS you probably are a subreddit going tranny and almost definitely giving it a review. It had to sell enough for PS to care enough to put it on their store but I think 5k-10k seems way more likely.

The sales (if that's correct) aren't great but it's more about impact.

It's a boring game that no-one is going to care about the sequel. The fan made Streets of Rage is still the game the "true" fans care about, but also Streets of Rage 4/River City Girls/Scott Pilgrim re-release will ensure that the takeover is buried in the "who cares" pile basically forever.

Pretty much, hell something like Mother Russia Bleeds can walk circles around Takeover.

I don't know what it is with the takeover but it just looks off to me. I can't put my finger on it but the moves just don't look right. It's probably just because of the weird ass style of animation they did with it.

Regardless, for 5 bucks more you could just get Streets of Rage 4 instead, which is a gorgeous looking game. Shit, there are some OpenBORs I like that I'd recommend over the The Takeover.

Apparently woolie and pat literally stopped the podcast midway to watch the capcom e3 and it was a waste since nothing new was shown.

Why wouldnt you just start the podcast after the presentation like, i dont know, any normal person?
Once again they've shown just how little they care and what little effort they want to put in. They can absolutely do both of those things at once, they did before on the Super Best Friendcast.

Concerning The Takeover I'll give Matt this, even if it's kind of shit, he got to work on a game genre he loves. I know he's a flaky, bland clown, but credit is where credit's due.

Or Fight 'n Rage, and lets not forget the DLC for SOR4 coming out.

The most important thing about The Takeover is that it actually came out, most of the time when people make games they languish for years over something that will never be finished and they'll eventually just stop working on it. It didn't rake in the cash but let's be real; most indie games aren't massive hits. We get a few that get big but it's not really uncommon for most games to just go completely unnoticed by the public.

The real question is why didn't they just fucking stream the presentation? It's not like they haven't started watching conferences and videos during the podcast before.

Also more importantly: Kanji Tatsumi is the optimal Persona wife, he hits people with a folding chair and nobody likes him because they think he's gay. Rise is a bitch and Atlus KNEW they made him the best wife and were so scared that no one would choose any of the other girls that they tried to make Yosuke gay instead and backed out when they realized that Yosuke fucking sucks and belongs in a trash can. If you try to dispute me on this I WILL ignore you for being so obviously incorrect.

They are probably scared about getting a DMCA strike or some shit. E3 put out some announcement that unless your an official pre chosen partner that signed up to stream it you might get copyright strikes due to music used at the conferences.

I didn't see all the presentations through twitch, did most of them play copyrighted music? The only one I saw bits of through twitch was the squeenix presentation because they disabled the music in certain parts like Life is Strange and the sizzle reel

Even then any of this doesn't excuse that they could have just started after, but it's Pat/Woolie lol

Ubisoft one had so much, I watched Vinny's yt video of it and he replaced all the copyrighted stuff with like meme music that you'd hear in every trailer

It was basically a warning of if you are a pre approved streamer your good to just let it all play but if your not ANY music could end up getting claimed by the original rights holders. It doesn't matter if it was using a pop song in the trailer, the music from the game soundtrack used in the trailer could get claimed.

Its fucking weird to think we have passed the good years of streaming content where the rules were pretty lax and you could do stuff like E3 watch alongs. Now you fear your channel may just get taken down because 30 seconds of music in one of the trailers shown. Even though its being talked over with game effects and so far in the background nobody is listening to the song through that.

just want to take a moment to laugh at pat thinking he is valuable to nintendo
