Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

i hear mixed things across all data centers and servers. some people base it on how well their ping can handle the dc and will go from there. or if you wanna get into end game raid, i heard primal and aether tend to be full of them. crystal kinda, but crystal has more rp :(

Got into this game with a friend group a few months back, had a ton of fun with it, but the rest of them all stopped playing.

Played it through Steam beforehand, but the full collection is on sale on Square's site for cheap so I'm thinking of starting a new character.

Any recommendations for server? I'm not interested in RP at all, but I was getting super into crafting before stopping last time. (I think we were on Coeurl before. Low troon population would not be unwelcome either, but I think that's asking for a miracle here.)
As long as you have a Square account, you don't really need to reroll a new character; you're just buying a license to play on platform of choice. Unless there's another reason you want to start a new character?

Maybe he lost his login credentials and the e-mail he originally had those login credentials on?

I shit you not, I knew a guy who made a brand new account and re-leveled his character from the ground up the hard way just because he forgot his login for both his Squeenix and e-mails.

Believe it or not, you can not use the Square Store codes with a Steam Trial account, it's completely asinine but that's how they've set it up.

I probably should've read the reviews before starting originally because they explain it there:

I'm not sure you can buy a steam version on the SE store. I've tried logging into my account on a launcher downloaded through steam and kept giving me error codes. SE apparently keeps them separate for whatever reason.
You can manually put the launcher in your steam library but steam doesn't track playtime or achievements.
Edit: mostly ninja'd by @Rootbeer

You can't. The Steam platform and literally everywhere else is 100% separate.

Pick a server with
- A late finish time for the ishgardian restoration https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/ishgardian_restoration/builders_progress_report
- Not on the crystal datacenter

And that should get you a low-rp, low-crafter world that you'd be able to take over market-wise.

Oh that sucks, hopefully you didn't lose too much.

i skip the cut scenes there i just wanna buy the stupid hair and get items besides the indigo stars :(

Anybody disappointed with Bozja? It felt like a lot of shit was cut.

The ending was retarded as fuck and more stuff was revealed in the field notes.
I'm still only mid-way through. (Just finished Delubrium).

Really not a fan of spongy enemies that require a full team to kill, and in a way that requires you to trust complete strangers to not fuck up. I will say the raids thus far are pretty well designed, and both Castrum and DR has some thought put into it.

It gets downhill from there with Zadnor tho.

Actually my gripe with Zadnor is the scaling issues. Some fates take 5 million years to finish whereas others go down almost instantly. If it was a little mor consistent, it would be better.

It was present in the Southern Front too, there were even fates that the npc's could do by themselves. The bigger problems in zadnor were mostly plotwise.

lol at the fourth fart legion doing nothing to stop you but bombard you for the 544590th time to see if they could actually break through that trusty shield gizmo you have this time.

lol at misija's redemption, the queen's aether weapon thing literally teleports to the front of her face while she's in prison and later she teleports in her god mode to save you from robo-diablo, then her power runs out and she falls down several hundred feet wild e coyote style just to stay alive a while longer to tell you that she doesn't deserve forgiveness.

lol at mikoto, oh noes im going to die falling, there is nothing you can do about it, oh noes im going to die falling, there is nothing you can do about it, oh noes im going to die falling, there is nothing you can do about it, lmao fran rescued me at the right moment with her motorcycle, you want it? go grind mindlessly those fates.

lol at the ending, half of it was in the field notes, maybe they ran out of time working on the cutscenes or something? How could they cut out the part where lyon eventually turns against the fart legion and burns down what remains of noah van gabranth and his forces?

At the end there is the new armor, tell me how this:

can compete to this:

Not saying it's bad armor but yeah eureka's was much better, however the relic weapons did look better this time around. But it isn't good enough for me to go back to dalriada again which was a lot easier compared to other 2 bozja duties.

I couldn't stand Vaan enough to play through XII, what make them think I want to dress like him, nevermind grind out shit to do so. The only staying power Bozja seems to have for the future is as an alternative way to get through lvl 70-80.

I've been mindlessly grinding Castrum for Lyon's notes. Once I get those, I can say goodbye to Castrum.
15+ runs in and still no notes. Sartauvoir is also being a cunt and not giving me his.

Those notes have about the same drop rate as a non nerfed mount in an extreme trial if you aren't doing the 1 v 1 for them.

The real problem isn't even the playing crafters. It's the rampant crafter/market board relisting bots. That's one thing that SquareEnix has let run totally wild, at least on my datacenter. I'll give you an example.

I play on the Excalibur Server on NA. I've also got max level in all my crafting, all gear max pentamelded. I'll occasionally pump out a few of the Exarchic crafted gear to build up some cash reserves for wanting to buy a medium house in Ishgard eventually. I still have tons of difficulty making any sales on that stuff because of these chucklefucks.

The three people above exist only to nonstop craft gear in their private locked houses, or in Inns in various cities. They have alt characters they pass the gear to in order to sell the gear on the Market Board. And they employ botting programs to constantly rotate through their retainers and relist their gear 1 gil lower than the current lower price. There's nothing to stop them either as there's no fee for listing products, like WoW's Auction House.

This is just one of the multiple botters that corner niche markets on the Market Board. I know for a fact one exists for housing/furnishings as well. If you want to make money, it's typically faster to just sell intermediate materials on the MB than selling finished products. And it's not even contained to my server either. I've since seen bots such as this from other servers on the data center take their goods to other servers using the world travel feature, and see bots sell their goods on foreign servers.

And the worst thing, is that Squeenix seems to only suspend these guys for maybe 2-4 weeks at a time. I've logged multiple tickets against them, but they never seem to ban the obvious botters.
