He has no self control and he doesn't want another PAZZLE BOSS incident like the one in RE3. The moment a puzzle boss shows up he's going to throw a giant fucking baby tantrum and there's nothing he can do to control it, it's just how his peanut brain is wired, so instead of looking like a giant fool in front of the internet he just looked up a guide.
Which is another thing that blows my mind. No one is going to think you’re stupid for not knowing a brand new game like the back of your hand and know every puzzle / boss strats day 1 of the release. Half the fun of new games is discovery. By looking up guides you’re literally cheating yourself and your audience out of those aha moments.

but then again his fans literally tipped him to read text on a black screen for 40 min recently so everything I say is moot at this point. I bet he could just stream himself eating that delicious egg salad mouth flappin and they’d tip.

He's on Standard, saying that he will choose Hardcore if he decides to do a second run.

RE difficulties seem to have been scuffed for a while now. I recall the RE3 remake's Standard difficultly being akin to Easy, Hardcore = Normal, Nightmare = Hard, etc. But that had 5 difficulties and RE8 has 3 so I'm not sure if they'd be more balanced. It doesn't seem so with Phil still making hits when he's aiming at a 45 degree angle.
I just remember dying all the damn time in RE 1 and 3. Maybe I’m just as bad as Phil though .

Phil has to pretend he's virtually psychic at how good he's at these games to try and convince people of the main lie he's perpetuated for over a decade.

Above all others, he tries to convince himself.

I haven't been watching Dave's RE streams, but I'm guessing he's still trying to kill every character he encounters given his RE history? I don't know how generous Capcom is this time around with ammo but if they're still going with the somewhat scarce route, I'm also guessing he whinges constantly about having no ammo?

Regardless, I'm looking forward to Outsyder's TIHYDP. I might even go back and watch DDM's restreams while I wait for that. His RE playthroughs are pretty kino.

I haven't been watching either, but it's typical DSP v.s. typical game developers for your first sentence. For example, in typical DSP fashion he wants to sniper headshot an NPC woman 5 feet away from him that's clearly there to progress the story, but in typical game developer fashion in 2021 they disable gun triggers when your cursor is on the woman. They also made her immune to some kind of grenade (either that or DSP just didn't throw it far enough, cause it was an ass throw).

Also "typical game developer fashion" is in reference to how game developers have to dumb down their games to the point where even fuck ups like DSP can breeze through it.

Are you talking about the originals? Because those were waaay harder on standard difficulty than the modern ones. The franchise is made for a casual audience now and are different games entirely, in many ways. The RE3 remake I mentioned with the scuffed difficulties came out last year.

I'm guessing he's still trying to kill every character he encounters given his RE history?
That's hilarious because he did throw a pipebomb at a ghost, knowing that it wouldn't do anything because it was a scripted event. Is that something he does in every RE game?

Yup, the old ps1 “don’t open that door!”
Then again the tank controls were half the deaths

If you pick up one of the modern remakes, or any title post-RE4, then you'll see how they just don't compare to the original releases at all in terms of gameplay.

And don't you EVER put yourself in the same protozoan-tier as Phil ever again!

Phil doesn't care what his audience thinks, Phil doesn't like realising that he is too stupid. How often does he accuse a game of cheating him, of hiding information that would help him cheese the fight, requiring some figuring out of strategies or indeed anything beyond 'hit / shoot it until the healthbar hits zero'. Phil's ego is fragile enough that it's easier for him to read the guides and cheese the game because then he wins and Phil only cares about winning, the easier the better! He's the sort of guy that would put up the barriers in a bowling game and still brag later how he scored so high, he's great at bowling, etc.

You can see how he gets so frustrated when he puts his controller down and demands help, childhood psychology 101 being displayed in a near-40 year old man. If it's too hard, he will give up and if there's an easy route then he'll take it because it's the game's fault for being cheating / stupid / not explaining how he can win.

I was thinking it'd be good too, so I stopped by DDM's a couple times and it's nooooot. Commentary that's bad even by Phil standards, and he's constantly saying everything twice, and confirming that what just happened did indeed just happen. Seemingly just to kill dead air. Maybe he's finally become fully unhinged and he's gonna start developing tics soon. Super worried about collectibles for no fucking reason. Super sad that he missed one today. "Now I'm never gonna 100% this game!" just in case anyone fell for the blatant lie that there may be a second Hardcore run.

He's trash and his aim is as bad as ever, but the game is so unbelievably forgiving he's not even coming close to death, or low ammo. The guide reading is painfully obvious and the twitch acting is not good enough to sell it. Phil wordlessly beelines every puzzle solution/gottem moment/gimmick enemy and then acts """surprised""" when everything comes up Milhouse. Aced the baby section. Rolled the DAHL section. Took him half an hour to do it, took a suspiciously well timed break before, so I suspect he's literally just altering his pinwheel schedule for the sake of appearing like a god gamer. Humble bragging afterwards about how he's never scared by this sort of thing (Walking simulator jumpscarefests) and he's good at it because he's played so many. Yeah man, I can fucking roll Amnesia with a walkthrough too. The whole point of this sort of game is to beat it yourself.

As for his battle strats, he just shotguns everything he sees, not even at point blank range. He doesn't even bother with parries, just regular old blocks are enough. He himself has stated how Ethan seems unkillable by default and if you block it just breaks the game. He's still rolling everything because the game is just toothless on Standard. The biggest thing is how he's in Silent Hill 2 mode and using health items to cure a stubbed toe and a little booboo, but again, the game just kinda encourages that with how generous it is. He's got ammo and health to shower in.

"Ahaaa" he says as he barrels towards a well and uses the well wheel. "Oh the DAHL head! Nice! See, I'll combine the DAHL head with the DAHL bAHDY! Yeaah! Very valuable! Nice!" and shitty, annoying one-liners when he shotguns a basic zombie from three meters away, thinks it's a headshot, triumphantly chants "HEAD PAHPPER!" as the zombie gets back up with a wound clearly visible on it's arm. He's super giddy about how """"""good"""""" he's doing and all the tips, too.

Least we got an acknowledgement shoutout today:
Hi Phil. I still insist you go faster.

This after literally 8 minutes of nothing happening in an action title, purely because Phil applies the same formula to death: Walk slow, look at thing, give opinion on thing. Things Phil has given takes on during this playthrough:
-Art
-Food
-Vampires who eat food
-Barrels
-Torture instruments
-Wallpaper
-Wells
-Statues
-DAHLS
-A DAHL'S nostrils
-Ghosts (If Hobos, Dogs and Ghosts, why Dhalphins, Frahgs, Ghalf and Dahls? -Think emoji-)
-"You need items to progress huh? Weird!" (It's a Resident Evil title)
-Pools of blood
-Whatever can be misconstrued into actual shit for some tried and true Darksfadil Scat Fetish Humor™

I don't know about you, but I always wanted to know what Phil thought of the possibility of a DAHL's nostrils being the hideout for a spooky scary ghost. I certainly don't come to Phil to watch him play the fucking game, his completely unfunny jokes, room temperature takes and just fucking capacity to bore are MORE than enough to keep me 😴

TL;DR: It's awful. How Habib and Derich are able to keep up with this absolutely sleep inducing mess is beyond me. Then again, they are both special needs. But it's safe to say Phil's gonna have trouble attracting new whales, he barely plays the fucking games any more. I don't know how much demand is there for middle aged men begging and aggressively snorting in your ear through a stream.

Well fuck. That's a bummer.

Hopefully it's salvageable enough for a half decent TIHYDP. Not too sure now by the sound of it.

:crocodile:

Literally phil's entire life in two sentences.

Chargebacks are back in begness fellas. Also, he'll no longer scan chat and say "_____ are you here right now?" for an unverified(non-doxable) tip, he'll now dox your chat history.
I like how he casually mentioned the person had been following since August 2020 like that gave him some degree of credibility. That was when the chargebacks allegedly started. I'd be more concerned seeing a follow date in August/Sept/Oct 2020 than any other date.

Phil mentioned that he was sent a detailed guide for the game. OroTurtle then turned up and tipped $81 (for which Phil barely reacted) with some advice that seemed to lack context. Phil thanked him for all of his support on the playthrough. So Oro has likely been writing Phil guides and promising to tip. Papavera 2.0.

Phil also confirmed that Phil didn't do anything for Kat for Mother's Day because she is not a mother. Their day for fun is tomorrow anyway.
Someone joked, asking if he sent his mom a carton. Phil pretended to not know what he meant, but it's obviously cigarettes - Phil is probably aware why his head is malformed. He clarified that he called his mom, and that a conversation is better than a card. He said his mom doesn't want chocolate or flowers, but she appreciates conversations. I suppose you can't really send her flowers when you still owe her $4k anyway... even if it would be a nice gesture.
He then recounted his 'fun days out' with his mom, that sounds suspiciously like exactly what he is doing with Kat tomorrow.
Freud's ears are perking up on this one.

Elaborate? This is new behaviour
It just means he pulls up chat history to gauge someone's trustworthiness, I believe. You can do that in Twitch, if you're modding/streaming that particular chat.

Honestly, just asking if the tip is legit seems better. Now Phil has to judge based on whether or not the guy in question says detractory shit in his chat and even Derich came swinging at the Pigroach the other day. Almost sure it was accidental, but he told his pig master that he had been watching Phil's "Unemployment Madness" old playlist. Chat went wild for that one.

Hell, if even Goken and Derich are taking sneak jabs at Phil, I don't think he's gonna have properly pignotized paypigs going forward.

EDIT: Added stuff, I posted before I meant to.

Elaborate? This is new behaviour
The person who tipped was unverified on PayPal so Phil said he was going to refund it. Then the person appeared in chat and said "Fuck! I thought I verified it". Phil saw this and then looked up the user to try and gauge their sincerity.

He saw that they have been following since August 2020 and went through the chat history and said that this person has said "nothing but positive things" in chat.

So I think in the end, the tip wasn't refunded.

ShirtlessMofo dropped the $70 to hit the tips goal.
However, they noted that they now won't be around for a while...
I believe they're the second whale in the last few days to do this maneuver.

A little concerning that these whales are tapping out when there is a massive fundraiser on Friday. Who do they think that event is for if not them?
Hopefully Phil is cutting some backdoor deals with PlanetJeff on this one again.

He's the one that said that the other day isn't it?
Why yes.........yes it was. Just pulled this wacky gag on Friday.
