I don’t know a damn thing about farming or alpacas, but I spoke with an acquaintance over the weekend who owns an alpaca and boards it at a farm. I found out that the small farm in question has about 20-30 alpacas and the males and females are kept separate. Also, (in addition to hay) they rotate the pastures where the alpacas graze so the land isn’t stripped bare. Duhhhhhhhhhh
Pretty much common sense stuff that the tranchers could’ve found out in 5 minutes of reading or conversation.
Also, this farm sells mittens, hats and scarves from the alpaca wool, but that’s clearly several pay grades above where Pennywise , Bro-nnie and kev kev are.
