I'm not completely understanding this whole SACanime controversy, maybe because I'm a little inebriated...
So the clinic and health department, and presumably the people lined up for the vaccinations, have known about this since October of last year. Yet no formal statements were released from any of the three parties until all the media backlash?
And in my view, it doesn't make much of a fuck if everyone DID know about this way ahead of time. It still highlights that these egotistical con runners and voice actors and these snowflake fans put precedence of their little swamp meet over pre-scheduled vaccination dates. These same chucklefucks are the ones who are cutting in line for their own vaccinations, conforming to all the Covid doom and gloom that the left is exploiting, and crucifying Vic for going to actual legitimate conventions/signings even when he's wearing a mask.
I wanna end this mini-rant with two points:
-FUCK these disingenuous, holier-than-thou, rules-for-thee-but-not-for-me cunts.
Taking things at face value, sometime in 2020 SacAnime negotiated space with the convention center to have their
convention swap meet. The vaccination distributor also knew about this ahead of time, since SacAnime claims they distrusted the doses for the day to other centers, the vaccination center will be holding longer hours a few days following the convention, and the vaccination even doesn't even operate on weekends, anyway.
The convention decides it wants to make some money. Placer County, despite including Sacramento, is still relatively conservative politically, so there's a good chance the county as a whole just doesn't care that much.
Someone looks at the calendar and connects the dots. Outrage ensues.
Far as I'm concerned, I don't care that the convention owners want to make some money. I don't care that the vaccination center is closed for a few days. Pretty sure being late 48 hours isn't going to kill you. I more or less give the convention a pass on this.
Pretty much all Funimation VAs preached about the evils of the WuFlu, and were quick to lambast Vic for flashing his gay pants at his adoring fans. The hilarity likes in Sabat and Liebrecht, despite their company zeitgeist, dare go to a convention. Rules of thee, not for thee.
-I say this a good bit IRL - Covid is not a joke, but the way it has been dealt with, is a FUCKING joke.
2020 in a nutshell. Be prudent in your practices, but don't fucking cripple our economy.
