My Dad (older guy and very overweight) got a positive antibody tests. He was sick on and off a couple times in December, with what he swore up and down was just a winter cold.

I'm glad he's had it. He's the one I was honestly the most worried about.

Got my positive test today. Kind of a motherfucker since I made it almost all the way through this shite without getting it. Got the fucking full array of symptoms as well it seems. Fever, lack of taste, currently trying to hack up a lung and it feels like there's a fat bastard stood directly on my sternum which is the worst.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think caused it (like, did you interact closely with anyone in particular recently)? I haven't caught it yet, and I live alone without any roommates or anything, plus I haven't traveled or gone on dates with girls since 2020. I don't exactly self-quarantine, but I'm just generally cautious around other people.

I know exactly where I got it, and how which is why it's a motherfucker. I've been doing some volunteer work twice a week for months, just to stop me going full cabin fever. While we do clean everything in the office regularly and we do mask up and shit turns out some dumb cunt felt ill after getting her first dose of the vaccine and still decided to fucking come in, and not mention it to anyone. Now there's at least two other people down with it as well, and I expect more will be on the way.

but I'm just generally cautious around other people.
Same which is why I've managed to make it through without catching it so far, even with the volunteering and other shit like a couple of hospital trips (thank you unexpected cold snaps and Manchester Council not gritting pavements)

Also as a random sidenote any other UK kiwis noticed you get a fuckton of calls and shit to deal with after you test positive? So far I've been called by Test & Trace (who are apparently gonna ring me again), the place I volunteer, some rando from my GP surgery and apprently the council health department are gonna ring me at some point as well. Fuck it, I feel like shit and just wanna sleep man.

Got COVID a month ago, probably after driving my mom to a doctor for check-up. After a couple of days felt weakness and shortness of breath. Called my mom, she has the same symptoms. I was not in the mood to have state-mandated spying app installed on my phone and have all my personal data leaked to darknet, so I decided to #FuckTheSystem and didn't call the doctor.
As for treatment, I cranked up daily dose of vitamin D3, added some aspirine, zinc and vitamin C. I also bought pulse oximeter from the nearest pharmacy and set a threshold of 90% oxygenation after which I would surrender myself to the healthcare system.
This /pol/-tier protocol seemed to work (or at least did no harm): I had noticeble shortness of breath for 2 weeks (like there is something compressing your chest) and felt like shit in general, but had no fever (37.5 degrees at most), no coughing and no smell or taste loss. Later, I took antibodies test and got positive result. For me, the Coof felt like a really bad case of flu minus the fever (and it lasted so fucking long).
Mom called the doctor, had COVID confirmed by PCR test. Her case was also relatively mild, she was told to stay at home and call an ambulance if her condition gets worse. Took about 3 weeks to recover, had fever for 3 days (38-38.3 degrees), coughing, loss of taste/smell, shortness of breath. Everything's fine now.

Pretty sure I have it. Gonna have to go get tested today. Trouble breathing and fatigue. Not like impossible to breathe but basically constantly feeling like I'm manually breathing and a slight pressure in my chest. Any of you guys that were positive have the same thing?
EDIT: I'm retarded and didn't read more of the posts here. If I die from this shit I will personally haunt every member of the CCP forever.

Figured I'd throw out another upodate for those interested. Been a little over a week since symptoms started and shit's actually getting worse, may actually end up in hospital at this rate. I'm now coughing up what appears to be either blood or some sort of infected sputum, although if it is blood I'm not sure whether it's a lung damage issue, or just a side effect of something like a micro tear in my throat from the insane coughing fits I'm having (I've had that issue in the past with chest infections thanks to an old army injury fucking up my throat).

Honestly the scariest thing is it's only been a week and it's gotten to the point where simply going up or down stairs or to the bathroom and back absolutely fucking wipes me out and leaves me gasping like a COPD patient climbing Everest. On a slightly lighter note it appears that while my Missus also tested positive, she's not having nearly such a bad time of it which I'm thankful for

Friend of mine went to the hospital with Covid and he said that other than putting him on oxygen and blood thinners, the staff didn't seem to know what to do with him. All they could do was treat the symptoms until it got better on it's own.

The coughing up blood and maybe infection is concerning. If it feels like the hospital might have machinery or medicines you need but don't have at home, go. Give medical professionals something to keep them busy so they don't have time to make cringy tiktok videos.

Apparently I didn't actually have covid according to a new test I did. Just some weird respiratory infection which made it somewhat harder to breathe which was being made worse by the symptoms increasing anxiety. I'll still haunt the entire CCP if I die from this too though.

My brother is an undergrad student and got covid. His girlfriend had to take a test and when she told the student admins about her situation (in contact with a covid positive person) they threatened to have campus security "escort" her to a quarantine location. She was living off campus and was freaked out, had to call her parents to try and figure out how to take care of this threat, etc. She got three different answers on what policy to follow from four different college administrators.

I feel bad for her but this is why you never trust a bureaucrat and get everything in writing. Anyone who can exercise petty tyranny over you is worth avoiding at all costs, and when you do have to interact with them you better be sure to get a written record of it. Don't be stupid fellow autists. Never talk to the police, always have a lawyer involved if you're accused of (or could be accused of/connected to) something criminal, and be sure to always have written records of communications with bureaucrats. Your life will be much safer for it.

And this goes double and triple for anyone associated with the federal government.

It hit me like a ton of bricks today. It took eight..count them eight months for my sense of taste and smell to recover to 95% normal. I was able to smell my favorite body spray. Bleach still smells like a weird ammonia smell. Hamburger still kinda tastes like wood pulp.

Get yourself to the hospital pal, or at least get a check up. Family's riddled with lung problems, that shit jumps out of nowhere and beats you senseless, better safe than sorry.

FYI for people getting the shot, immunologist was saying that if you have any allergies of any sort, you should take an antihistamine before getting the shots.
I'd rather speak to my actual GP, who has said to just not get it.

Anyone who takes the advice of a random person on the internet starting a sentence with FYI and not citing their sources is a fucking spastic. Which immunologist? What lab are they based in? They a PI? what level if degree and qualifying country?

Where did they practise? Got a fucking link? What journals gave they been published in/articles have they authored and on what subjects in particular?

Who funds them? Area of expertise?

C'mon, you're clearly one of these I FUCKING LOVE SCIENCE spastics so you must have answers to these questions, right?

Slight update: Mom, who lives with Dad, got a negative antibody test. So two people from my parent's household have had it, and one hasn't? My theory is that Mom and I were both super sick last Feburary, with what I bet was Covid, but Dad and Little Brother didn't get Herr Covid till December (and therefore are showing antibody results now where Mom's have faded). I'm probably gonna get tested too cause I really want to be able to say I've had it to anyone who pesters me about the vaccine.

You fucking retard.

It was a suggestion from MY immunologist, it was her reply when I asked her about having the vaccine, due to the severe allergies I have, and the spate of allergy reactions that people are having to the vaccine.

Want a link arsehole, here you go! https://www.worldallergyorganizatio...1939-4551(21)00011-9/fulltext#secsectitle0010

I'm sure in your special little mind, you can find all sorts of things to argue and protest about.

FUCK YOU!

First of all, calm down.

I have seasonal allergies and my GP didn't say anything about it nor has any doc I work with. Unless you have a history of allergic reactions to vaccines or the ingredients in them, they wouldn't say that. If you just have seasonal allergies you don't need to.

Getting my vaccine later this week. Everyone else that can should, too. The Hulkster says don't be a pussy and get your vaccine
