I think of all the deathfats, Ash makes me feel the worst. I've listened to her podcast, and as misguided as I personally find a lot of her philosophy around fatness, she seems pretty smart, and like someone I'd enjoy being friends with if I knew her IRL. Maybe not close personal friends, but at least the kind of friends you have at work or something.

And then I see her in spreads like this and I'm just, like, why? What is the purpose of this? What have you done to yourself? Why do you demean yourself this way? There's so much more you could be and do. Why do you choose to be less than your potential? And how long do you think you can keep going like this?

Big Al, Chantal, Fat Jen -- none of them ever had much to offer the world, and never will. If they choose a life of pointless hedonism, well, we're not really losing anything of value. It might even be that their best contribution is via the dark entertainment they provide. I think Ash might've been someone better and more interesting, though. It's a genuine shame to see that wasted on gluttony and self-debasement.

Anyone who's ever had the flu or food poisoning or any athlete who's had to make weight, anyone who's intentionally fasted, etc. and could barely eat for a few days knows that isn't true at all, lol. Sure, most of the weight is water and glycogen loss, but it can still be visibly and physically noticeable, sometimes incredibly so. Also, I assume most morbidly obese people can do themselves a lot of good just by relieving their bodies of the strain of extreme excess fluid before even starting a proper weight loss diet.

More FatToks because I don't want the last thing I post before I do chores to be those cultists in the TikTok thread.

Trisha Paytas is not a healthy lady.

I don't trust water slides either, lady. Kids pee there.

Also, Marissa is the #1 poster in the #fatoppression tag. Does she have any hobbies that aren't just her being fat?

What the hell is she smoking. Online, you choose your own handle & anybody is free to call themselves a foody. And no fat people do mukbangs?

She acts as though it's a human right to overeat. "Fatphobia" that the mukbangers she follows are skinny (they're spitting it out or throwing it up, Marissa). Just... follow the fat ones then?

If you ate moderately and made healthy meals and then worked out for 30 minutes on each those seven days, utilizing some basic cardio and some easy weight sessions, you’d feel amazingly better than either starving OR pigging until you’re sick. You’d also have more endorphins and be on your way to creating new sustainable life habits that would benefit you for years to come.

But nah. That sounds hard.

Also lol at not being able to tell if someone starved without food for a week. People who don’t eat for a week look like utter shite and feel like it too. You gotta work your way up to 7 day fasting and one of the widely acknowledged side effects of a weeklong fast IS rapid weight loss. I see this man is a trainer and likely he is talking to his clientele, encouraging them not to undereat AND not beat themselves up if they indulge too much.

But this is moronic advice for the HAES group. To them it reinforces their black and white thinking: either you STARVE or you eat whatever you please, there is no other way. All thin people must be starving themselves. Obese people shouldn’t cut calories because it won’t make a difference.

It’s also dangerous to say that starving yourself for a week is pointless because you can’t SEE any change. Uh, your organs beg to differ, they see the change and they are not happy, because they’re not functioning well. Same as if you went on holiday and stuffed 5k calories down your throat every day for a week.

It’s a weird form of sunk cost fallacy. It’s easier to delude yourself into fat acceptance than it is to accept that you’ve destroyed your body, wasted a huge chunk of your life, and embarrassed yourself on the internet. Rejecting fat acceptance means acknowledging that you are responsible for ruining your own life, that you caused your health issues, stretched your skin beyond repair, and will die much younger than your genetic potential would have allowed you to live had you taken care of yourself.

Is it normal in America to hire morbidly obese people to work in fast foods?

This was mostly covered but I also want to point out (since you mentioned in your area, it would be frowned upon to have fatties working there) that in the US we have nondiscrimination laws and a lawsuit-prone population. Hiring managers can’t decline to take someone on as an employee just because they’re fat. Fast food restaurants generally don’t want to mess with that possibility.

The most disgusting roommate I ever had was an overweight woman. There's something wrong with some of them mentally that affects their ability to take care of themselves.

That’s depression, you’re thinking of depression. Long term, it can get real ugly in a multitude of literal and figurative ways.

I believe in most states in the US obesity is not a protected class. So the manager could fire them for being obese. However if they're claiming they're disabled as well as obese, disabled people can sue if they felt they didn't get the right accommodations.

Getting on disability for just obesity is very difficult, but if you pair it with fibro, chronic pain, joint issues, depression, and other stuff that fats usually struggle with you can get it through with a couple appeals.

ETA: If you're deathfat status, it's nearly impossible to hold down a job. Most of the obese people I see working at grocery stores and fast food places are smallfat, still obese, but not so bad that they lose their mobility. Food addicts like chantal and jen couldn't hold down a job unless it was remote and they sat all day. So most jobs are out of the question for these people.

That first trisha vid has an audio clip from an episode of my 600lb life, which just adds another layer of depravity and depression imo. A person documenting the lowest point of their life for the entertainment of other, repurposed as a joke, by a joke of a person. Yikes.

I assure it was not depression in her case. It may have been some form of untreated psychosis, however.
