Nigger, Coeurl was my first and only server for most of the years I've played FFXIV.
Coeurl is pretty bad – ALBEIT not for RP reasons.

I'm on primal and it hasn't been that bad. I just can't say words to anyone because people will report you for the dumbest shit. Like fucking anything remotely offensive. This isn't too big of a deal for me as I generally stay within my group when I talk, but that's even more so now when people are report happy.
As far as the rp fags? No, it hasn't been that bad where I'm at. I could care less if anyone even engages in it. But FFXIV rpers have cemented their legacy of being insufferable twats. The only place I saw it happen was in limsa where they shit up the shout chat with lame as fuck jokes or they spam emotes, because lots of retards think being a spamfag is funny and a clever way to troll. Lately it's calmed down on that regard and I haven't ran into anyone that makes me angry enough to punch kittens when I run through Limsa.

Check some of my earlier posts ITT. I've recounted my entire experience playing on Coeurl and being the officer of what was once one of the biggest FCs on Coeurl before already.
Plus, there was that period before I left where I pretty much got myself excommunicated from the social sphere of Coeurl by way of pissing off a troon server celebrity just because I wouldn't kiss his ass.

Oh shit I remember we had this conversation before lmfao. I'm not really that social in the game and stick to a group of friends I had made outside of FFXIV so that's probably why I haven't dealt with as many retards and troons.

I'm gonna put it like this.
The group of friends I had well before ever touching XIV got sucked into XIV things themselves and more or less ruined our friendship because of XIV. They may or may not also be directly involved in a lot of the stories I've told previously and may or may not have been my fellow officers as well in that same FC.

See, we did that a lot too. Except it started getting taken too seriously and too far over time.
I'll also say, never make a static with your friends if they have a tendency to be tryhards. Especially if they're too scared to call out people outside your group for being underperformers. Especially if they start putting more pressure on you to overcompensate for the underperformers they won't call out.

I dont think I have a "worst experience" aside from terrible PUGs, but those are so common in Crystal I just consider them part and parcel.
I mean, I dont really have any friends to play with nor I interact with anyone aside from clients, since I just spend my time crafting food/pots and selling them in massive amounts to raiders.
I even stopped raiding because I just didnt have the patience to deal with savage pugs.

Here's a very simple step-by-step guide so you, too, can be a true hero and real human bean:
Step 1: Get invited to the troon's LS, then promptly leave it without saying a word when everyone won't stop dickriding the troon and praising every single lunatic thing they say. (Mostly consisted of "I TRIED TO GET A JOB AS A HISTORY TEACHER BUT THEY PASSED OVER MY RESUME BECAUSE I'M TRANSGENDER. I SHOULD BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, I WOULD GUARANTEE TRANS RIGHTS AND PUT DOWN THOSE EVIL CISGENDERS.")
Step 2: Get partied with the troon on a regular basis because your friends are friends with people who are also friends with the troon, frequently, politely suggest that the troon should calm down and take it easy when they start shittalking everyone in the party over the odd wipe or two.
Step 3: Generally be someone who tends to make mostly inoffensive shitposts and really dumb jokes in local shout chats for levity' sake. The troon loathes fun, and will inspire his followers to a-log you within the hugbox of the LS you left in Step 1.

I miss the early days in a way. The GMs didn't have a hard on for anyone making jokes as long as it wasn't too hard over the line. They didn't give a shit about cursing either. I used to be able to bait people into anger, and back then, the GMs gave 0 shits if said person reported you and they actually started sperging first. Funny, because in FFXIV, to invite said sperging, all you have to do is give basic fucking advice on playing a job so they'll suck less, and the Reeee-ing will commence. I was fine with it because then I got to clown them with no repurcussions.
Now? I got one warning for ripping on a floor mop of a dancer that was being a whiney faggot, making jokes about needing a back doctor for carrying his ass and how his dps was about as dangerous as a whiffle bat, etc. Then I got a 3 day suspension over some stupid ass joke and I wasn't even insulting anyone. Just someone else in the party who didn't like it and they just reported me. I'm not too worried about it, I rarely engage with anyone anymore regardless outside of the folks I play with. But not letting fine, classy gentlemen like myself cyber bully troons and the like when they act like their shit don't stink, it's hard to keep myself in check.
