It's more than likely that 500 people with fifty different agendas have already called up his local police department, they're bound to be aware.

But if you must, no, you won't get done for wasting police time as you have legit concern regarding his tweets. As long as you're not calling 911, rather the number of the police station (or the non-emergency line if the US has an equivalent to 101, I know the UK has one and I've not been done when I called them with shit that they couldn't help with.) then you will definitely be safe.
