Pretty much, so don't feel too bad about defending Phil since he only did the "right thing" for a chance to whore himself out. The 10 minute gap between the finish and the start of the stream is one of the few moments Phil's claim of out of context editing actually holds water, so of course it's the one time he never pointed it out.

Since we're actually playing Daveil's Advocate here... Another thing I've seen taken out of khantext is his I'M PLAYING A WOODWIND INSTRUMENT! I'M JAPANESE! clown routine. I've seen a lot of people think he was clowning on Japanese culture and on the Japanese music that was on the E3 Ghost of Tsushima presentation.
Uuuuuuh, no! That never happened!
What he was clowning on was the fact that the music was played by some white guy on a traditional Japanese flute while wearing traditional Japanese clothing. Dave of course thought that it was so funny that a white boy was LARPing as a Japanese guy and playing a woodwind instrument. What Dave didn't know of course is that that guy was one of the few people outside of Japan that was fully trained to play that flute. I think he was either British or American but in any case it was easier to fly a white guy who is trained in playing the instrument than try and get someone from Japan to do it.
There's tons of actual examples of Dave hating on any stripe of Asian, to use this clown routine as one is just grasping at straws.

Sure, why not.
A few days ago, a fan asked Phil if he could stop his poop/turd jokes. In my opinion Phil reacted perfectly by turning it into a really dry joke by saying this gives him the idea to make it into his new years goal, to make as many of these jokes as possible. No insults dropped, no ban, just a light hearted joke without malicious undertone (this time).
Fair enough! If he'd be a normal average Joe streamer, if the Joe wouldn't be a manipulative scammer who constantly insults and berates his audience and shows the thinnest skin on the internet over the smallest of criticizm, this would make me laugh! So kudos for actually acting like an adult this one time. If someone doesn't like his khantent then too bad, no streamer can please everyone.
Also, no, Phil is still not a changed person, this would require more evidence than occasional seconds long snippets of his life. A change in person is a constant, not a forgetable moment.

Certainly is. It's all about not taking it to an extreme.
For example, it's reasonable enough to think that Phil might have continued being dishonest if it hadn't become the biggest DSP meme. But it quickly spread like the rona, so we'll admittedly never know for sure.
Didn't know Keemstar had a hand in that (no pun intended). Though it's hardly surprising.

I Phil like Phil I’d the living embodiment of the meme of the stick figure poking something and going “c’mon do something”. Then when he does something genuinely entertaining people are so starved for content from him they really go overboard. This board became like 75% less fun after the bankruptcy crash. People are all serious and pissy about Phil.
There’s a term called “grey rocking” that people use with narcs and nick picky people- just make yourself as boring as possible, don’t give them anything to hold onto so they can’t come at you. He’s like the grey rocking wiki how come to life.

LSB said that Phil mods told him he is being as boring as possible to discourage detractors and re-streamers, imagine having a job as an entretainer and deciding to be as boring as possible,detractors live rent free in his head.
It don't think its 100% voluntary though, he couldnt be funny even if he tried because he is autistic,low IQ, immature and has a terrible personality. He never made me laugh or smile.

It has had an impact (and may be the reason for the "detractors are over" tweet), but with Phil, absolutely any amount of being made fun of is too much, so it's not like the detractor community needs to be at its peak for it to live in his oddly-shaped head for free. Shit, he has taken down detractor channels and it still occurred to him just yesterday that his ranting was going to get clipped and talked about.
Like in many other things, Phil being deliberately boring is him trying to cheat his way to victory, to have his cake and eat it too, but he can't kill us off that way. He has to actually stop caring about what we say and do. For real. Nothing else is going to work, because no matter what else he does, mentioning us and/or otherwise displaying knowledge of our words and activities keeps us going.

Sounds like Phil is just trying to cover his ass and pretending that he's not naturally boring. If Phil is trying to be boring, he's failing pretty spectacularly at it. When people say Phil is boring, what they usually mean is Phil is repetitive. There are some streams/games where he can be particularly boring, but it feels like we're getting animated Phil rants pretty frequently. I might even go so far as to argue that Phil produces more content specifically for detractors than he does his actual fans. True, he barely touches games these days and always finds way to stall or checks his phone or whatever, but all those things give us stuff to joke about, with the phone thing especially basically being a Phil meme.
Phil is actually at his most boring when he's just focused on an easy to play game where he can just spam one or two buttons and grind his way through. He's content enough because he's "winning" so there won't be any angry Phil rants. There's not much of anything because if he isn't ranting or complaining, he's just giving bland commentary.
But yeah, this seems more like a "jokes on you, I was being retarded on purpose," type of deflection from Phil, probably because one of his mods called him boring and he was too much of a pussy to call them out and decided to just play along with it.

You bring up a good point, though it's worth noting that Phil's idea of being "boring" is probably going to hinge on avoiding giving up material for good TIHYDPs, which is something I think we can say he has succeeded at. To a degree. Also, for a lot of detractors, I do imagine that 2020 was rather boring to them because the only real major "event" was the bankruptcy, which ended with a (sort of) W for Phil. Champions was more of a drawn-out saga than a moment, and probably wouldn't have been nearly as amusing without a certain deranged individual we all know and love.
All that said, I personally find Phil to be more entertaining than ever these days, but that has been because his addiction has kicked into overdrive and his paypigs have been failing him, two things he can't really do anything about (at least not without ceasing to be a pigroach). Basically, he is failing at being boring, but it's because he's Phil. If he could really pull off the act, he wouldn't be DSP.

Like, let's imagine for a minute that the year is 2025. Phil is 44 years old, even more boring than usual, still a toxic hermit, uglier than sin, almost no detractors care about him anymore and he consistently gets less than 100 viewers on his streams.
Would that be enough? Or will the whales keep bankrolling him?
One has to wonder when does it stop. What do these people stand to gain from supporting a boring entertainer? I'm pretty sure most of his whales don't even actively watch Phil.
Out of all the weird thing in Phil's autism vortex, this is the one that most eludes me. People willing to give thousands of dollars to Phil every year. It's almost like they see him as a charity institution for one person (and a horse and a cat).

They hyper aggressive weens are what attracts his pay pigs. As long as there’s people putting out genuine dumb shit and actual harassment (calling in and yelling during his bankruptcy, contacting his lawyer, sending his jerk off vids to the court blah blah) then he’ll keep getting whales. Period. Him being boring and not rising to the bait makes him look better. Create an out group and outsiders will flock, he knows this and uses it well.

I hate crediting Phil with being clever, but it just occurred to me that the possibility of his 341 hearing getting trolled might have been a reason for him no-showing the original court date, since the original date would've been harder to disrupt. We live in his head, he knows some of us are just as retarded as his fans are, and can't resist making him look like a legit victim (even though he still isn't).

But at the same time when Phil is playing a simple 'Press X to win' game, or a game like Animal Crossing or Minecraft, are when Phil himself gets bored and will go on a 5 minute rant about how his mother smoked the whole time she was pregnant, and his whole life from the time he was a baby until when he was an adult-baby and finally moved out, and how during his wedding that he tried to dunk on detractors about that he and Kathy were choking on his mom's cigarette smoke. He'll also cry about all these chronic health conditions it gave him.
Then 5 minutes later he'll go on a rant about how he doesn't need to ever exercise because he went outside as a child so he is and will be the pinnacle of health for the rest of his life while never lifting a finger or walking faster than a waddle.
