I think it's a constipated variation of the "give me patreon dosh - or else!" pose. What kind of pose is that even supposed to be? I have no idea what it's trying to tell me.

Did Dobson deliberately remove squid girl's breasts because feminism, or did he forget that women have breasts?
They're all at bare minimum 14 in the world of the game, because they don't gain the ability to transform until then. Also, I'm going to do one of my own critiques of that piece:They don't have breasts. I assume they're supposed to be children.
Ugh, looked at that piece again while reading along with you and I just realized she has the same fucking face as his grumpy bear avatar, just less um.. weird bumps and knobs. They're all at bare minimum 14 in the world of the game, because they don't gain the ability to transform until then. Also, I'm going to do one of my own critiques of that piece:
- The flaps on the side of an Inkling's head are not ears.
- Her eye color is wrong for the kind of Inkling she is.
- Why does she have a pink Splat Roller if she's orange?
- General half-assed background.
- The fuck is up with her right arm?
- Where are her knees?
- I'm pretty sure Dobson just used a default vector for the Splat Roller's texture.
- The roller he drew would be impossible to use unless hunched over.
- The shoes look nothing like what are in the game.
- Are Inklings supposed to be as tall as Smurfs?
- Nice shading mistake on the left arm.
- What is her right foot doing?
Wait, I've got more:Ugh, looked at that piece again while reading along with you and I just realized she has the same fucking face as his grumpy bear avatar, just less um.. weird bumps and knobs.
Ugh, that Mad Max. Usually Dobson's frantic fanboying involves franchises I don't care about, so it's annoying, but only due to the sheer volume of it.
Now he's touched on a franchise I actually do like, and it's even more annoying!
He'll draw something else in a few weeks to keep up with whatever fad his waifus tell him to obsess over.I totally agree, sir - When it comes to that franchise, jimmies are close to rustling for myself also.
I'd almost call him a troll with this kind of art, but we know he is being heartfelt about it...
Also look at any given piece of promo art for the game and take note especially of the tentacle-hair thingies. They are always in really dynamic shapes, like they are flung around and in mid-motion. That is a crucial aspect for the liveliness of the characters, it's part of their design to make them look vivid and energetic.Wait, I've got more:
- Is the black mask a part of her face or not?
- Pose is incredibly important to the atmosphere of the piece. What is the character trying to convey? It looks like she should be shrugging, but he drew no shrug. The face alone looks like a "meh" face but her body language is halfassed.
- Shoes are not tied with Christmas present bows. They don't look like shoe laces.
"What's the problem with me being such a rollerfag?"What kind of pose is that even supposed to be? I have no idea what it's trying to tell me.
So!, Dobson, how big is the inkling?, what you say? about 4 hands and a bit tall?... are you fucking kidding me?:

Not to mention the incredibly dull looking shoes instead of the colorful and super detailed snickers the inklings are supposed to use: He also got the wrong eye color, she's an orange inkling, the hair and the eyes are supposed to match.
Knees? what are those?. Couldn't the steam roller be any less detailed? because seriously, look at any splatoon image and the only 2 things with lots of details are the snickers and the weapon they use, but since it's Dobson, everything is bland and dull... and don't make me start on the background.
Dobson doesn't drop the ball, he let it falls and kick it in the opposite direction.
Well, the hands are far too large. It's neither on-modell nor does it look the least bit fitting. On the profit side, he is at least drawing one of the hands quite well...The one holding the gun, not so much...
If Dobs got his head down and done some comic work regularly, he might getbackinto good practice...

And that kinda bothers me. With Photoshop, fixing this problem would literally have been just a few mouseclicks et voila: the hands don't look like pans.
This is just another run-of-the-mill uncreative and unimaginative piece of fanart
