I don't entirely know the context to this cause I'm just a free trial newbie but the concept of one chocobo causing a massacre sounds hilarious.

Red chocos have an attack called Choco meteor that deals insane damage in an aoe and inflicts vulnerability up debuff. It was a huge meme because you had to fight a bunch of them to unlock the lighthouse raid and they killed a shit ton of people.

I can't decide if I want to grind HW fate trains for the new relic, grind fate trains in Bozja, or maybe for a change, grind some ShB hunt trains. At least I'm done with the Yokai trains.

The red fucker returns in Bozja and its a critical engagement, ive fought it once, and i never want to fight it again. People are saying the fight is on par with Golden Bahument in terms of difficult, and i can believe them.

The reason why there are so many red chocobo memes resurfacing is because this one red fucker is killing 48 man groups in seconds.

On top of the FFXIV explanation, the red chocobo massacreing everyone was a meme that went back to Final Fantasy Tactics:
I couldn't find a video of an actual massacre but this one shows how much of a pain in the ass they are. They can take 1/3 of your health per turn.

So while I started on a european datacenter I ended up remaking my character on Jenova cause I was very early in the game anyway and I knew more people on that datacenter. The interesting thing is that even though the UI says that my connection is poor I'm genuinely not noticing any difference between this one and the euro datacenter.

UI's a lie, and FFXIV is very forgiving for poor latency. Just don't try to play melee (first) or classes that require low latency (infamously, MCH).

So are there any kiwi FCs on Goblin? I've gotten to endgame mostly solo because I'm an antisocial fuck, but I wanna see what the FC stuff is all about.
I don't know how other games handle it but all it's really a hangout where you get bonus buffs and an apartment room if the FC has a house. Most people socialize on discord or linkshells anyway.

Free Company actions mostly (exp bonus, gathering bonus, reduced teleportation fees etc.). Can be bought with Company Credits which are generated by doing whatever the fuck (like crafting, doing quests and FATES or handing exchanging items for scrips in the cities, pretty much everything generates credits)
Your own private room (you can also buy one in the apartments inside the housing zones)
Company chest
Airship and submersible deployment
Workshop crafting (ethereal wheels, housing projects, airship and submersible parts)

As someone who cares about the story of Bozja (go ahead and laugh at me) I'm really disappointed that Bozja's inequality conflict is the same tired nobles and high merchants hoard all the gil. Which is a shame given that Bozja from what I've observed is a medieval slavic inspired nation and they could've maybe made at least some reference to communism. "They promised us equality for all and wealth for all the lowborne, but soon we found out it was the same as it ever was, only worse." This would maybe balance out the garleans and the resistance and maybe have some WWII vibes going for it, but that's just my subjective take.

That's also juxtaposed with

The fact that the Garleans in this case - the 4th Legion under Gabranth - are supposedly cool people and the territories they control are run a lot better than Bozja ever was - with much less classism and racism, which is the reason some people are defecting. Gabranth isn't even a full-blood Garlean and was still able to rise as high as he did in the ranks in the imperial army - something that never would have been possible in the Bozjan army.

It's interesting at least to see Garleans not being mustache-twirling villians for once.

I did my first crafting relic. Wasn't too bad.

Little disppointed they don't glow while in use like the blessed stuff.

Ah well.
