Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

The main driving force behind the Lincoln Project is Rick Wilson, and to a lesser extent Bill Kristol. Rick Wilson has never been important, except in his own mind. Bill Kristol used to be better regarded, until absolutely everyone in the GOP realized that Kristol would fight Israel's wars to the very last American soldier. His over-the-top hatred for Trump led to his magazine collapsing, and he responded by ramping up over-the-top hatred for Trump voters.

No one talks about Project Lincoln on the right, because no one cares. Pretty much everyone has realized by now that Wilson and Kristol are just a pair of losers monetizing their personal hatred of Trump.

I am somewhat surprised that they haven't had an Evan McMuffin candidate to prop up and run. I'm guessing that they couldn't find anyone willing to do it. That should tell you something about their status in the GOP. Their status among actual Republican voters is even lower.

On the note of Trump, do you guys think that he has enough integrity as a president?

Again, I was talking to my mom about the debate and the like, and she said that he didn't exactly behave the way someone who is the president should. Like, if he (and Biden for that matter she added) are just gonna act like children up on stage and show a complete lack of integrity and just hurl insults, then she is worried about how they would run the country.

Words come from the heart after all.

Idk what your mom's definition of integrity. Arguably Trump's greatest strength is being true to who he is and not pretending to be something he is not. Essentially being honest to who he is. You don't have to like who he is but that's not a lack of integrity on his end.

Also a weird complaint to have about Trump considering he's already been running the country for 4 years. Either you like how hes been running it or you don't at this point.

Tbh, you mom sounds like she was talking about Biden but doesn't like Trump. She probably hasn't told herself she is a) not voting at all this year, or b) voting for Trump even though she may not *like* him. A lot of decision making is people rationalizing the decisions they've made emotionally a while ago.

So fucking what he's crass? Being a loudmouth asshole (or a semi-senile moron) on stage has nothing to do with integrity.

Trump has run the country for four years already. We know what he's doing, and if you look past after all the media REEEEEEing he's actually not doing too bad. If your mother doesn't know what she's getting with him, then you should call a doctor and get her a double cornea transplant because she's blind.

By integrity do you mean acting in private how he acts in public? I dare say he acts much nicer in private. There was a clip a few days ago of him being covertly recorded where he was interacting with law enforcement or firemen, just shooting the shit, saying things like "I'll give you my autograph, you can sell it for $10,000. I can put your name on there but it would be worth less".

We have stories from Secret Service agents about the Clintons saying how horrible Hillary was, and absolutely nothing negative about the Trumps.

This also indicates an incredible naivete among people and a desire to be lied to. In many ways, you have to be an asshole to be President. Some are better than others, but you need to be kind of a ruthless dick in some facets to be good at the job. Not hopelessly unethical and corrupt, but still a ruthless dick when called for.

"I'd like to vote for someone who isn't an asshole." Well, that's nice, but you can't. That person's not available. What you're really saying is you want to vote for an asshole who lies to you by pretending to not be one to your face. You pretend he isn't really an asshole, and we all enjoy our shared delusion. If Trump's assholishness helps tear away the veil from the phony Washington edifice, I'm all for it.

Exactly. He went for the big hits and it meant his form was sloppy, but when they connected they were whoppers. That moment where Trump asked Joe to name a single law enforcement group that supported him was a killer. Trump doesn't need good PR, the media will twist anything he says anyways. He just needs to drag out the real Biden instead of the shiny media approved totally not braindead Biden that the Democrats are so desperate to portray, and I think he partially succeeded there.
Trump is really good at getting people to reveal what they truly are. Its amazing. How does he do it?

How they would run the country?

Trump's been in office for nearly four years and has been running the country. Biden's been in politics for 180 years since 1972. Both of them have a record of governance that she can look at and prove their actual record in office.

That said, the earlier post you made kind of makes it seem like your mother wants to be convinced that Trump is bad and she should vote for Biden and is looking for an excuse. I'm hardly going to say don't have a conversation with her, but also don't be discouraged if she won't change her mind. Or if she decides that she's rather not vote for either of them.

I would also say that, if she's erring toward Biden as opposed to a write-in or no vote, ask her what she likes about his policies.

Boy, if I was orange man, I sure wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing Cher is screaming incoherently and pounding on her keyboard or however she comes up with these:

That ropey use of capitals and punctuation should be a capital crime. Does Cher think it racist ( or whatever) to re-read what she wrote?

Your 'mom' said, yah right. Both this and the previous time has been the most interesting example of concern trolling ever.

Yeah, I was starting to think just that. Is this guy trying to get us to simp for Trump for the sake of screencaps, or something?
Simp for Trump or hoping for that "one question they cannot answer". Either way, I smell fish.
edit: Also, I LOVE what you did to you avatar.

For the person asking about their mom. The best way to get her to change mind is spend more time with her. Get her away from any indoctrination devices.

Also make friends with some awesome trump supporters. Try to get her to spend more with them

We have stories from Secret Service agents about the Clintons saying how horrible Hillary was, and absolutely nothing negative about the Trumps.

And we also have stories about Joe Biden swimming naked in front of Secret Service, some of them female, with no consideration that just maybe no one wants to see his wrinkly old junk. Those agents signed up to protect him, even take a bullet for him, not to put up with an arrogant old man insisting on naked swimming. I'm sure those stories are just the tip of the iceberg. There's also a story about Joe Biden insisting the car with the nuclear football stay back at least a mile when they were driving into Wilmington. He didn't want a motorcade, he wanted to pretend he's just Joe Average. But you're not Joe Average, you're a former Senator and then-Vice President. His "I'm just like you!" shtick is pathetically transparent. I don't personally know any just regular guys whose drug addict sons get handed millions of dollars by shady foreign powers.

Reminds me of the Ask Reddit thread from 2016 or so that was asking people who had met DJT in person what their experiences had been, and they were 100% positive. On REDDIT. Stories almost all about him being kind, friendly and an extremely generous tipper.

When you drone strike children as part of your job, integrity is the last thing you need to worry about. Obama put a more dignified face on it but ultimately the only real difference is manners (insert your own comment about well spoken black men here).

I think that's why Trump appeals to many, and to a lesser extent the likes of Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson - regardless of their politics they don't actively come across as one of the elite few, too good to mix with the rabble. Trump shoots the shit with cops and show boats, Nigel talks bluntly and was always in pubs, Boris is a human mop that's repeatedly cheated, etc

Unless they rape a child on stage their flaws make them seem more accessible and human. Hilary sneering at the working class for being deplorable was never going to end well.

Oh on the Vox Day thread, he's apparently embraced the idea that Biden has had a subdural implant feeding things to him through bone vibrations.

(Maybe that stuff is real now, I just have trouble believe Biden could survive the surgery or have that going off without him reacting.)
The theories about wires bug me. :tomgirl:

If Joe was so incoherent and out of it, how would subdermal implants and ear pieces help exactly? Processing what someone else is feeding to you while pretending to listen and interject at the right moment sounds harder than just doing it for real. Especially if the dude is one foot in the grave.

I believe Trump loves this country and will do whatever he can for her best interests.

And for 4 years he has never once proven me wrong. Even if I may not always agree with him that an action is best for America, I know he does believe it and that's what motivates him.

Biden and the antics with his son prove to me he is in it more for what's best for Biden, not America.

Give me an imperfect but sincere patriot over an opportunist any day.
