Then I started considering the potential for Disney as a propaganda machine and realized it's probably more than likely to happen.

Actually, the flop of Mulan just showed that won't be the case.
What Chinese audiences want is incompatible with the rest of the world, and bending over backwards to court China has deserted and angered a lot of traditional customers who want to know why "their" films are being scrubbed of the same things they demanded (Minority characters, strong wah-men, diversity) and are jumping ship. They're in a position where they're spreading too thin to try and catch everyone, or even worse, just courting the "biggest" demo and expecting everyone else to just fall in line because "We're Disney, nobody can resist our plastic pixiedust! If we can win the China market, we've won everyone!"
They never imagined the traditional American or just "Western" audience would ever leave them... they have a "too big to fail" mentality where the changes they make to their properties can only ever grow an audience, because once you like the Mouse, you ALWAYS like the Mouse, and you can never ever DESERT the Mouse short of death....
ANd that's on top of the 20 year streak of the big entertainment brands growing risk-adverse and lazy when it comes to actual ideas and just rehashing things over and over again or buying up successful franchises, giving them a red-hot "woke" injection, then putting out the barrels to catch the money that will fall from the sky and being honestly confused when nothing happens..... They've been playing with the demographics and designing-by-committee for so long, the actual talent got thrown out along the way as "overhead" if not "problematic".
In essence, they put all the money in marketing, and don't understand why the busted old assembly line is making defective product.... the part that stamps "DISNEY" on it at the end still works!

Makes sense.
Disney is only as big as it is now because of decades of economic stability. Even the 2008 market crash was a relatively minor event compared to the lockdown.
They've spent over $70 billion on 20th Century Fox and another $2 billion on the Star Wars theme park and now, they can't make a profit on those investments.
They've sold a huge chunk of their debt to private entities as well as taken massive loans, they need to billions of Dollars for yesterday and the only thing that's profitable right now for them is Disney+ (and even that is questionable).
The great thing about this is that they might have to start selling their IPs to stay afloat.
I don't care about the Buena Vista/Pixar stuff but they have a lot of great IPs from Fox and, if I was a very rich person, I would start making offers on some of them.
I bet you could grab Alien or Predator for pennies right now.

Holy shit, you know what just hit me? That's the very concept of "selling out": Entity becomes very well-liked with a certain audience and gains popularity, tries to expand that popularity by catering to outsiders, and inevitably alienates and loses their original audience (that they took for granted) by abandoning what drew them in in the first place.
The most corporate, mainstream media giant in history is suffering from selling out.

Bidens admin will probably allow it.
E: by bail out I assume you mean China buying the company or investing into them heavily.

I love classic Disney, I love WDW and I'm sad that I never got around to visiting the original Disneyland before shit hit the fan, but Disney deserves this for selling out their original all American vibe in favor of Chinabux and Wokism.
What they did to Star Wars was honestly kind of evil.
We're a long way away from the days of 2007-2012 when Disney was becoming hip again.
That said I hope the company doesn't go kaput completely but shrinks and changes for the better, sell Fox, sell Star Wars, sell Marvel, just focus on their own movies and the parks and focus on American audiences again.
I would fully support Japan buying Disney.

Yeah, for one thing the parks are going to crap slowly but surely but the ones in Japan (not managed by Disney) are the best. No Nu- Star Wars expansion, no fake woke pandering with [BRAND] supports BLM and we will be changing Splash Mountain, plus their second park is an actual unique idea instead of yet another studios-IP smorgasbord park.
Keep in mind that part of the reason for the layoffs is a fuck-you to Newsom and an attempt to put pressure on him to allow the parks to reopen. Kind of like two shitty parents arguing and using the kids as a bargaining chip. "Look at what you made us do Newsom, now 28,000 people are out of a job"
Knott's Berry Farm is open. None of the rides are operational though so I don't know what the fuck the park is open for besides the Halloween seasonal events.

Yes, from what I understand Tokyo Disneyland is so well run and well maintained it's as if it's still 1983 when it first opened and Tokyo Disneysea is without a doubt the most beautiful theme park in the world.
Plus if Japan bought Disney we'd probably get 2D animated films again.

I've heard mixed things about if the 6.7k at Disney World announced are part of the 28k or an additional set of layoffs. Have a coworker who has a wife at WDW and he wasn't sure.
