You would have to be mighty weird and dumb to think terrorizing a child via the metaphor of birth could ever help complex psychological or developmental issues. That's a total bottom-feeder concept, about on a par with believing mental illness is caused by an infestation of demons and you need to beat them out of the patient, to death if necessary.

I believe New Jersey has partially closed that loophole as well, you can be kept on life support, but you need to be a resident of that state now, IIRC. And if you are a resident in that situation, and your family takes you to another state for treatment, but return later, no hospital in the state has to take you.

There was a case in Texas where the DNR wishes of a paramedic were considered invalid because she was pregnant. They revived her and had her hooked up to a ventilator, where she was then declared to be brain dead. But due to the whole pregnancy thing they refused to disconnect her, even after multiple obstetricians examined the fetus through ultrasounds and said that due to the length of time it took to revive her that it was no longer viable and it'd be okay to disconnect her.

Needless to say her husband, who is also a paramedic with a DNR, was upset by the whole mess that could've been prevented if they'd acknowledged her documented wishes in the first place. The whole shitstorm died as sudden as it happened however as the brain dead woman miscarried after a week or two and a judge finally allowed her to be disconnected.

In January 2014, Erick Muñoz's attorneys argued that the fetus had suffered from oxygen deprivation and was suspected to be non-viable. The fetus's lower extremities were deformed to the extent that the sex could not be determined. The fetus also had fluid building up inside the skull (hydrocephalus) and possibly had a heart problem.

You are correct. I know of one “featured” case on the Alfie Evans page is very anti-vaccination. The family is trying everything else though. Someone called CPS on that family, which really upset the mother.

She’s also upset right now because Facebook is placing warnings on the page because of the anti-vaccination content, and because false and dangerous medical information is being shared.
