I like controversial comics but I paid Ethan too much, how valuable could a book be that you can turn a profit after they turn a huge profit? There aren't enough fans everyone who wanted it could easily get a copy.

20-30 years from now a lot of the trash from this era will be gone. People will likely save CG and indie stuff and it might maybe have a good price point.

I was expecting Ethan to keep his word. When he said the book would be available for 2 months, I didn't expect him to still be selling it 15 months later. I expected to be selling it myself, and getting my money back. But he's selling it instead of me, while he owes me a lot that he's in no hurry to make good on. It's "at the printers", but he's still taking an unlimited number of orders.

Yeah, this got followed up with questions about how the art would be allocated, and the idea that the art would be offered on a first come, first choice basis.
People do need to be able to see the book to make a choice purchase on an investment of $1000, which is how original art is usually sold to buyers in the first place. The other option is to simply hand out the book in order, backer #1 gets page #1, but frankly, this doesn't seem fair either, since that doesn't reward early backers.

If you ARE an original art backer, you're literally the only person who is making this complaint.

I asked Ethan to send what I paid for, and he tried to fuck me out of it by asking for my order number so he could refund it without my permission, stealing 15 months' interest from me and getting a free loan on my $3,000 for a year without ever giving me anything in return. He'd rather do that than just put the pages in an envelope and mail them, which he could have done 12 months ago for $5.

I'm not a fucking moron like you, so I don't want to get screwed like that. So I declined to give Ethan the interest-free loan of $3,000 for 15 months that he tried to take from me against my will.

When other shit-brains like you said I was just being greedy, I pointed out that Ethan isn't offering me anything for free either. So why should I give him anything for free? He won't even send me what I paid for, much less anything extra.

So let's do the math here:

Wanting a refund or not is a binary choice. For the sake of simplicity, let's assume an equal probability for each possible outcome. So he's saying there's a 50% chance you deserve ridicule for wanting a refund and there's a 50% chance you deserve ridicule for not wanting a refund.

50% chance of deserving ridicule + 50% chance of deserving ridicule = 100% chance of deserving ridicule.

The math checks out. Numbers don't lie
