General Wrestling Discussion

Apparently he's having a bursa-sac (whatever that is) removed in the elbow, which is supposed to make for a quick recovery and less chance of repeating flareups of MRSA.

I guess there's some downside to removing that part, but Moxleys brawler style don't seem like one where he's dependent on great joiny flexibility.

It's a small fluid-filled sac at the base of the elbow, it's supposed to reduce friction in the joint. If you've ever had bursitis, that's the inflammation of the bursa.

If Moxley's had an MRSA infection of the bursa, it's likely that some of the bacteria is lurking there, so there's a high chance of developing another infection. Removal of the bursa is probably the way to go in that case. The surgery doesn't disturb any muscle or ligaments, so the recovery time is relatively short.

Ambrose was out for 9 months in the WWE with MRSA in his elbow, now it comes back and he's losing his biggest-publicity indie date and you think it's kayfabe?

You've worked yourself into a shoot, brother. Dude's elbow is fucked. Hope he gets a full recovery this time.
It's all just part of the plan.

@JosephStalin the longer matches in other promotions are not like the old school half hours and "Broadways." There's a lot more moves and action, this type of booking is called "workrate wrestling" now. So it'll be more of a simulated combat, but more like pro wrestling fighting and not a shoot fight. You might think NJPW is too over the top or video gamey and has too many kickouts and outlandish looking moves. Not to say you shouldn't try it, especially when they run more tournament style events, but its pretty different.

I think if you watch anybody that works with NJPW it should be people that are more grapplers and "catch wrestlers," like Zack Sabre Jr, and another person you might like is Tomohiro "The Stone Pitbull" Ishii, who is more of a chop you/chop me brawler sort. From their last tournament, I'd recommend Zack Sabre Jr/KENTA and the matches Ishii had with Jon Moxley and Shingo Takagi.

Edit: They've also got a pretty good, bread and butter old school heel, Jay "Switchblade" White. Check him out.

When Moxley's in the hospital, Vince McMahon'll come to visit and then Steve Austin'll jump out from behind a curtain and waffle him with a bedpan.

"I'll take it from here, nurse"
"BONG!"

God I miss those days.
You really shouldn't even call him "Moxley" (And I shouldn't have either, my bad) Dean Ambrose was always Vince's first line attack against AEW. He went into enemy territory to mess em up a bit (because of "injury"), and he will be back in the 'E as soon as he legally can be.

I'll believe it the day Ambrose is eliminated from the Royal Rumble and Moxley comes out and wins the whole thing.

So tonight it's a big AEW show, with a chance to see basically the same shit they've had at every other show including Lucha Bros vs Some HBK Cosplayers Part 75.
Tomorrow night that Catholic high school has a great show lined up though, a lot of CMLL talent and indie randos.

last night was CMLL with a pretty good card, haven't watched the show yet but it's up at

I don't get AEW's plan. I did not expect to get bored with Lucha Bros vs Young Bucks but sure enough, it's happened. Hopefully this is the blowoff and then they have some time with other opponents. And I don't know why they think Cody Rhodes/Tye Dillinger will be a good match, neither of them ever had a good match in the WWE. What's next, X-Pac vs. Great Khali? Yikes, it's like they're scraping the bottom of the WWE's barrel. Not a good look. They say they've only revealed 40% of their roster, and if these are the high points, they should be worried.

On the other hand, this PPV will at least be better than their last two. Pac/Omega should be a fun fucking match in the ring.

But if Jericho/Page doesn't bring the house down, AEW is gonna have serious problems, and frankly I don't think they can pull it off. Frankly, they're wasting both of them. Page needs someone younger who can make him look stronger and more skillful than he is if they want to make him their young champ, and the only person I want to see Jericho fight in AEW is Joey Janela.

I expected to be bored with them because I don't find the Bucks entertaining in the slightest.

That's not too surprising, the Bucks have always been love-them-or-hate-them wrestlers. But I like a lot of their matches, so if even I'm bored with them, they're in real trouble.
Yeah I'm basically not into the USA indie scene at all so the poster boys of it isn't going to do much for me either.
