If Borb had bribed the PVCC staff, then chances are Chris would've probably gotten the degree when the trouble with Mary Lee Walsh started as a way to get the money and kick him out. I also imagine once they left Walsh would use her power as Dean of Student Services to permanently ban Chris from coming back. However I still see Chris following the same path. I believe it was Emily that said that someone from Chris's Church offered to get him a well-paying CD&D job that was only twenty minutes away and Chris refused saying it was too far away.
