Franchises you wish would just DIE and GO AWAY - And ones you don't care about.

I don't necessarily need any franchises to die. If I don't like something, I just don't watch it.

However, there are franchises I consider myself a fan of that I feel need a break. Star Wars is up there for sure. Transformers is one of those (I heard Bumblebee was good, but I had no desire to watch it after being beat over the head with the other Bay films).

Also, if Disney is going to remake their animated films, could they at least put a little bit more thought into them than just selling my childhood back to me?
 
Every single one with pointless remake/reboot.
At this point I'm so tired of this trend that I have negative feeling when any reboot is annouced. I can't be the only one. And there are actually good ones that suffer because of this trend and being "another reboot, ugh".
I also wish almost every big franchise to be... calmer? Smaller? To produce number of content that is actually possible to consume to "normies" and new fans.

and personally speaking, the Brian Herbert/Kevin J Anderson Dune novels. I think they're done but if Brian Herbert sniffs out a penny he can make zombifying his dad's creation, he will.

The Herbert estate seems to have no clue on how to manage a franchise. Where are my dune figurines, trading cards, memorabilia?
Who wouldn’t want a limited edition crys knife For their mantle?

But nooooo... instead they chose to go with the least creative and most expensive route they could. I don’t know how much profit Anderson is making on the books but it’s too much and it’s obviously more than enough to keep his ass well fed.

On the one hand I'm kind of glad plastic Dune shit isn't being shilled by "lol I'm such a nerd!" nerd culture types. But the Herbert estate is more focused on propping up Brian's sham of a career than preserving Frank's work or promoting its themes.

It's kind of nice that a lot of SF masterworks haven't been co-opted by nerd culture since there's no merch to hawk.

I am so sad to say I played the first 5 games and only realized there was an issue at Revelations. It became insanely apparent then they were rushing new games every single year and the story wasn't intricate and complicated, but convoluted nonsense. 3 pretty much never made me want to play another one again; and I'll definitely never ever play that one again to be sure.

The whole mythology and gameplay (based on stealth) is such a gimmick. It just doesn't work. Even in a good GAME, like 2 or Brotherhood, the story is still utter nonsense.

And gee, Ubisoft is back to the game a year strategy, further proving they will never learn. I only have a vague interest in Black Flag (due to rave reviews on gameplay and the interface seems vastly improved from 3) and Rogue, due to its interesting concept, but I am 100% done with it past that.

Other things that come to mind are Transformers (just about everything from this franchise except Beast Wars is godawful, but especially the films) and on the Japanese front, JoJo, Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail, One Piece, and especially Dragonball. The latter being the only one of these I ever had a soft spot for growing up, and it's probably the worst thing I have ever seen now. EVER. It's sad the DBZ fanfics from the 90s have literally become reality...

I’m obviously biased but yeah I concur.
The hard core Dune forums I’ve been to are great for dissecting the lore but not much else.
Many of the most active posters are high off their own fedora wearing ratheist farts.

I could only imagine what kind of sperg storm Dune’s eugenics themes would cause in this day and age of the internet. (With everyone completely missing the point of course)
 
Cartoons/Anime in general need to be made out as cringe culture, again. And much as I like the mediums (well, Im not into anime in general unless it's old school stuff...), too much cancer surrounds them (whether east or west.) - too many cancerous people make it no fun to watch anything that falls under these categories, too - don't get me started on how SJWs have made it damn near impossible for modern Western animated fare to compete with Eastern fare... Some indefinitely in need of a good old fashioned reset and rebirth by people not looking for brownie points, but people who love the medium and want to present it as Some thing people can actually get into without making it into what it is now: cringe culture in stealth form.

Maybe having these mediums go back to being cringe culture would help in a Big way to set some things right.

Frozen. I could live without singing inbred sisters, yes.
Paranormal Activity. How much longer can you milk the cow?
Star Wars. I blame it entirely on Disney.
Aaaaand...Any SJW-ish reboot.

Yeah, that's the point. And it'll be hilarious and wonderful chaos on all sides, too, trying to see people justify their BS arguments.

Truly one of many great ways to watch the world burn.

I thought Deader was pretty good. It was not originally a Hellraiser script. Either was Hellworld, which was not that great at all. In fact, most of the Hellraisers after four are not Hellraiser movies. They are original scripts that had to have Hellraiser stuff thrown in to get them made. I think that's what makes people hate them so much. It just feels too obvious. As original stories they would have been better.

Although I think it is best if the series just dies already.
