Culture YouTube releases it's YouTube Rewind for 2018

Usually these things are masturbatory self-indulgences for the YT community featuring a lot of e-celebs. They start off with PewDiePie declaring "YEAR REWIND" and then showing some dumb shit for the fans.

This one
  • Starts with Will Smith (who isn't a YouTuber).
  • Has Ninja (who isn't a YouTuber).
  • A Fortnite gag.
  • No PDP because he said the word NIGGER.
  • A bunch of people no one cares about.
  • An entire two minute long scene celebrating diversity, women, and non-whites.
  • Locked chat with the people in the video watching it together and live commenting with the most cringe inducing shit I've ever fucking seen.
Currently it's at about 70% dislikes and sinking. The comments are tearing it to shit. For all the talk of diversity, one commenter from Brasil pointed out that there are no Brazilian YouTubers present. Sorry menino, you faggots don't wear hijabs and don't hate Trump enough. Better luck in 2019.

YouTube is awesome and there doesn't really need to be an alternative. They just need to slap the SJWs down a bit.

When the New York Times attacks YouTube with some spurious Nazi shit YouTube shouldn't be pretending to shit the bed because they are so scared. They should have just got Pewdipie to compare what he did to their biased support of the invasion of Iraq and have that pushed heavily.

Pewdiepie does some dumb shit and there might be some cunt uploading ISIS videos to the platform, but no one on this earth thinks the advertiser is endorsing that.

They are the SJWs. Their entire MO is to erase anything even remotely edgy so it can be a sanitized, corporate-friendly, but more importantly< NON-PROBLEMATIC site. There's no media controversy surrounding Mumkey Jones, yet YouTube nuked his channels just because he's an edgelord. Pewdiepie and channels like him are a parasite in their eyes, and the sooner they can get rid of them without a massive viewer exodus, the better for them.

NicoNico is Japanese, not Korean. And it's most likely because a large group of Americans are koreaboos and are obsessed with k-pop and mukbangs or whatever the fuck.

I care because it's funny, and because it's interesting to see how out-of-touch a company is with its userbase.
I don't care a lot, mind, but I'm not some apathetic sad sack that thinks caring is somehow uncool in the 21st century or whatever.

I don't think they think their userbase is smart enough to notice that they're putting out Potemkin bullshit while actually fucking over and purging the creators who actually made their shitty, fascist platform a success. They still think they can turn it into a shitty clone of TV and their users won't go elsewhere.

Of course, until someone shows them they're wrong, they're not wrong.
