I've never seen this mentioned- technically he can donate those statues to Goodwill and write off the donation value on his taxes.

He won't because he's not really desperate enough to convert useless statues into a discount on his taxes.

But he could.

Phil can't do that. He doesn't like to take credit or to receive praises for his many charitable contributions troughout the years. Receiving tax credit would go against his believes.

Too bad this is the same man that also thought that giving away empty videogame boxes was a good idea

I believe it is empty, didn't someone actually visit that condo and confirm it was empty, and pretty much had a hole in the roof?

If it's truly a condo, Dave isn't even responsible for the repairs. The Condo Board (or whatever they call themselves) should do any structural repairs and bill Dave for whatever portion is his.

Correct, the hole is in his apartment complex but it's not his unit. Although considering the hole was still open when that guy went and visited I would worry about mould and other damages that can spread through the complex to his unit.

Possible; also just as possible it was repaired and treated for mold and the bill was sent to Dave.

I was thinking about it, and from how I've seen condos work (we have alot here) even if he's underwater on the loan, Dave should sell the place and just pay off the remainder of the loan; condos come with LOTS of expenses past just the mortgage, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's paying hundreds a month in maintenance fees.

It's to keep people from just making burner accounts or jumping in to troll. The idea is someone who wants to troll isn't going to have the patience to wait X amount of time. It tends to be more effective outside of the DSP sphere, since your average streamer doesn't have quite as many dedicated people following them as Phil.

I think even Phil has just enough intelligence to realize putting an outrageous limit or sub only mode is ultimately bad for his channel. Not that he's exactly getting a lot of growth to begin with, but limiting chat in your channel makes a pretty bad first impression to new viewers. Sub only is also pretty bad for people like Phil who tend to have a younger audience, since not every kid is lucky enough to get their parent's credit card to pay for a sub. It also sometimes pisses off people who are Patreon follows, but don't want to sub because they don't want to throw 50% of the money at Twitch.

It is largely unnecessary though because of Phil's ban happy mods. It might be worth throwing up from time to time if Swaggins isn't around to play house wife and clean up the chat, but I don't think it is worth consistently keeping up. Honestly, Phil would probably benefit more just giving the trolls easier access to his chat, he barely gets any views as it is and if he's lucky he'll get a few who throw quarters his way.

I get it but it seems like a token effort. 1-hour follower mode won't stop anyone who wants to say something to piss him off. If someone wants to do it they can just hit follow, do something for an hour come back and hurt his feewins. It just seems token to me, as if he's done something to be able to say he has.

He should either go full on with it or stop it. Especially considering some of the worst shit I've seen in his chat comes from his mods/subs. I ain't seen any detractor or casul in there rape-playing like they have. It just comes off more as a bitch move than a legitimate effort to improve his chat.

That however, might just be my dislike for him showing through. Because like I said, I do actually get it.

He does have a rather weird obsession with dicks and he does try to oversexualize every woman he sees in games. Smells like a moldy closet, alright.

Playing games is something people do AFTER spending all day in work. It's not work, never will be work. It could be a job, but it's not work. There's a difference.

Absolutely. Most streamers understand that as well. It can arguably be work if you're trying to go pro where you have to put in thousands of hours to hone your skills but that's the only situation I'd possibly accept it as work. It's a job most people would give their left nut to have. Especially to earn as much as this fag does while doing it. He's the only twat I know who considers uploading videos to YT work as well though so that says a lot.

so the nintendo program is dead. does this mean they wont copyright claim videos?
I think so. The program forced tubers to give them a cut of ad revenue, and that's why thy were claiming videos of people who weren't part of the program. Now the program is over, they probably won't do that anymore. Which is very good news. Someone will mention it to Phil and he'll let us know how he feels about it. It's basically his only excuse for not playing Nintendo games.

IMO, streaming can count as a job, but it isn't the video game aspect of it that is work, it's being an entertainer. The best comparison I can think of is stand up comedy. Technically, anyone can go up and tell jokes, but if you're not entertaining, you won't be successful. Anyone can stream on Twitch, but if you don't bring something unique to the table, you're not going anywhere. And for some people, that's fine. It's just a hobby, just like some people perform stand up during an open mic night for enjoyment and not to make a career out of it.

The problem is, Phil doesn't understand streaming, despite the fact he's been doing it for however many years now. In typical Phil fashion, he's trying to fake like he understands it which is why he constantly mentions how his streams are interactive like that's some new and unique draw. Phil thinks being a professional video game player is a thing, and not in the sense of e-sports or competitive gaming or whatever. Just playing games.

Sometimes, there are people who just want to see gameplay, usually if they're on the fence about getting a game and want to sample how it goes. But, that's what YouTube is for. At most, they might check Twitch for a few minutes to make a decision, but they're not going to stick around. What makes people stick around is the streamer's personality or in some niche cases, their gimmick, things like challenge runs or speedruns or whatever. The only real exception to this is e-sports stuff or the odd celebrity streaming stuff, but that's so far outside of Phil's realm it doesn't really matter.

Phil can't be entertaining on his own because he is a bitter and boring hermit. He's also too proud to lean into the bad gamer thing, despite that and the drama being the only things actually keeping him relevant.

People who want to see him bitch and whine at another fighting game that isn't PS1 Super Turbo.

Calling it now: He'll choose a character he feels has the best 'Down+B move' and spam that over and over like the last time he played Smash

better not pick a heavy character and complain that everybody is too quick
so many games where he picked slow but powerful characters and complain about quick characters just doing easy combos
