So, on his fiscal situation; it sounded a bit like a slip not an intentional misdirection, but he implied that he's borrowed money from his parents before (and now he can't)

I've seen Gen X kids drain their parents dry, could that be happening here? Have Ma and Pa Dark been paying those 10-20k tax bills every year? Backstopping him when he can't make a bill or two?

Are they cosigned on his house?

Edit: Smoking a cigarette just now, it occured to me.

He was talking about renting a hotel to visit his parents?

Doesn't he have.... a condo nearby?

I would almost guarantee they're cosigned on his CT condo. WA condo probably depends on how much of a down payment he made and where his credit was when he got the mortgage.

As for the hotel if he ever bothered to go back out there, the CT condo probably doesn't have a bed at this point, but it's not clear why he couldn't stay at his parents' house, unless they emptied out his old room as soon as they finally got him out of there...
 
Honestly it could be a lie that the condo i empty. It is quite absurd if it was really. He is probably still collecting some kind of rent. But it sounds better that it is just a expense so he has the excuse to beg for more money.

I believe it is empty, didn't someone actually visit that condo and confirm it was empty, and pretty much had a hole in the roof?

Isn't Phil's chat always in Follower Only Mode? On the 19th, I saw a Mod accidentally turn it off, forcing Phil to quickly turn it back on himself

It's funny because sometime in the late summer I remember someone in his chat asked if he thought having the channel in followers-only mode was detrimental to channel growth and Dark said, "What's that? I don't do that, I don't even know what that is. If it is that's my mods, I don't have anything to do with that. Yeah, that's my mods doing that, it's up to them."
Even though he's been putting his Twitch chat in followers-only mode periodically ever since 2016 :cringe: so of course he has to slip up and provide direct evidence he knows what it is and personally places the chat in followers-only mode :\
I just can't imagine the amount of fagot you have to be to sit there deliberating on the exact amount of hours to place followers-only mode in to make my North Korea hug-box feel safe :lol:

correct me if I am wrong. But I belive it was a fire with one of his neighbors that burned a hole in the roof of the building it was in. I would find it strange if they haven't fixed that problem yet.

What's the point of it? 1-hour or 30 minutes isn't going to dissuade someone from getting a bit mouthy. If he's going to do it, he should do it properly. Put it in 1-month or higher. Fuck it, put it in sub only. No surprise his attempt at troll control is as limp-wristed as anything else he does.

He’s just super fuckin stoked that he can double dip every game developer in the industry! Not to mention the twitter post like a week or so ago where he was pissing and moaning about Nintendo, “taking his pennies away!” Now he’s gets those pennies back!

It's to keep people from just making burner accounts or jumping in to troll. The idea is someone who wants to troll isn't going to have the patience to wait X amount of time. It tends to be more effective outside of the DSP sphere, since your average streamer doesn't have quite as many dedicated people following them as Phil.

I think even Phil has just enough intelligence to realize putting an outrageous limit or sub only mode is ultimately bad for his channel. Not that he's exactly getting a lot of growth to begin with, but limiting chat in your channel makes a pretty bad first impression to new viewers. Sub only is also pretty bad for people like Phil who tend to have a younger audience, since not every kid is lucky enough to get their parent's credit card to pay for a sub. It also sometimes pisses off people who are Patreon follows, but don't want to sub because they don't want to throw 50% of the money at Twitch.

It is largely unnecessary though because of Phil's ban happy mods. It might be worth throwing up from time to time if Swaggins isn't around to play house wife and clean up the chat, but I don't think it is worth consistently keeping up. Honestly, Phil would probably benefit more just giving the trolls easier access to his chat, he barely gets any views as it is and if he's lucky he'll get a few who throw quarters his way.

What happened to all the furniture from when his aunt lives there? His parents couldn't have moved it. They are so old they are on death's door and can barely move.

Correct, the hole is in his apartment complex but it's not his unit. Although considering the hole was still open when that guy went and visited I would worry about mould and other damages that can spread through the complex to his unit.

He seems to go in-between directly asking for $$, to implying that he doesn't even care about earning from his online activities...
 
The revised Nintendo YouTube policy should not apply to Phil simply because his brand of content is not transformative. He essentially plays each game on the default difficulty (which nowadays equates to easy mode), taking the path of least resistance while being given explicit step-by-step Google Maps-like directions by his exceptional fanbase (does this give said fans a sense of pride or agency?), all the while providing extremely low brow commentary (no breakdowns of battles, strategy sessions, analysis of themes, just shit like “Wow dude! That was bullshit!”). Phil’s streams are tantamount to theft; imagine him reading the latest bestseller on a Twitch stream (in a nasal monotone voice, of course), interspersing the prose with the occasional, “Damn. That Harry Potter is a great wizard! Thanks for the 10 bit cheer, Mrs. Wagginz!”

Yeah, no, it's supposed to sound muffled because of the door being closed etc., so that's fine. I only don't like how certain parts of the audio, mostly game audio and music, sound like they're recorded underwater. It sometimes sounds like someone is making a lot of bubbles using scuba gear or by arm/body-flailing, and certain sounds from the gameplay sound like heavy underwater explosions. I'll just have to fuck around with some settings, I guess.

Let's hope DSP doesn't stop raging at games all of a sudden! :optimistic:

Tevin uploaded this stream, the part where he shows Phil's rape song starts at 32:06 if the timestamp doesn't work. Fucking incredible he used to actually play that shit as a prestream song. I know it's Phil, but just how dumb could you be? If he tried that now he'd get banned instantly.
