The Venture Brothers

That's what I got out of it. We still need more background about why he's so fucking weird about ladyparts, though.

Also, super late to the party, but holy hell Publick and Hammer did a great job addressing their super long production time with DEEP FUCKING callbacks to the series.

Reminds me that they love what they've made, even if it takes fucking forever to come out. Truly a labor of love.
To be fair, if you were a kid on a space station and (almost) everyone else died, you'd probably be fucked up by it too.

Sharkey's machine is rated R, Manstrong was a kid at the time so they probably didn't let him watch it.
If this is the case, I want to know more about Manstrong's character. He could've been put in a "babysitting room" or something.

Also that Gargantua 1 was pretty much his life. He was there as a kid and survived (if it's the same Manstrong) Movie Night. He then went up and was virtually alone on the station save Baldavich. Then the station crashes and he's yet again the only survivor.

I do want to know more about him, but Rusty and family is absolutely amazing.

S07E05 "The Inamorata Consequence" is one I keep thinking of after viewing, its multiple interwoven story leads make me think of "Escape to the House of Mummies Pt 2" and it's just as good; moreso because you see the evolution of some characters & relationships, whereas Escape is a better standalone episode if you knew nothing about the series. Rusty giving Dermott a recommendation into OSI is pretty interesting, and Rusty's speech at the end about maturity and compromise is one of the best monologues of the series. It's great seeing the absurdity of adults arguing over the specifics of "organized antagonism" as if it were a valid career or industry & the reference of Jonas pacifying these wackos with a pool party game. Really fantastic overall :feels:

FWIW the episode name "Inamorata" translates from Italian to Female Lover, so the Female Lover Consequence is definitely a reference to the Guild/OSI/PP minor sub-plot being a jumping off point to future arcs of greater significance. Interesting that they stick that in there when it's really not the main subject of the episode's events.

I actually wonder if it's supposed to have multiple meanings. It could also refer to Dermot being an OSI member, since he's the "consequence" of Doc's ill-advised fling with the head of his fanclub. It could also refer to all the clones floating around, also the consequences of other relationships...

which we now know includes Doc himself.

Publick and Hammer totally said they have more in store for the OSI / Guild relationship from the end of season 6 in the commentary. While it could totally branch out to mean more, I think the title refers to that tryst.

I'm reading the Go Team Venture! art book put out by Dark Horse last month, and both JP and DH have an interest in Manstrong (in part, due to liking the voice actor,) but they keep falling flat with regards of where to take him. It could still happen.

It royally sucks that there are only 3 episodes left. If e7 is anything to go by, there's going to be one hell of a finale.

Okay so...
Given that Red Death kind of flew off the handle (as far as we know), does that mean we're gonna see impending war between the GCI and Peril Partnership?
Also did Wide Wale bail on the council because he couldn't complete his arch, or because he is secretly a sellout-ass bitch?
Also interesting info drops: Doc's horny and self-aware, the "13" part of the Council of 13 was a Sovereign thing, and we got Dr. Mrs's arch that probably ended her gig as Lady Au Pair.
And the Phantom Limb and Hunter thing makes sense, what with The Invisible Hand of Fate showed us (an inch).

And we probably won't see Sheila's decision regarding the council until next season in 2021.

I do hope we get another "movie" (a la "All This and Gargantua-2") after this season is over... It really doesn't feel like they have enough time to tie up all the loose ends they've set up, with just one episode left, by the end of this season...

TWO episodes. And I think they said this season will have a proper ending (read: we didn't run out of episodes before finishing this time or some shit)

Love that Dr. Mrs. The Monarch's old arch also means "Girlfriend". It was actually a touching scene when Lady Au Pair and Novia met in front of the building.

I adore every minute of Red Death when he narrates a story. I think Clancy really digs the role. He flawlessly switches between Red's two personalities.

I also believe he is intending a war. "Will there be killing?" Maybe taking a page out of Sovereign's book and intending to wipe out the competition. But what kind of competition does Canada have? I mean, Tigershark who Brock beat down in a second, Blind Rage, and... well, he had a cool costume at least.

I also like how Rusty, Billy, and White did manage to get a perfectly working teleporter. Rusty is a superscientist, and I know the original shtick was "failure", but he knows his stuff and I like that they showed it. He brought back the dead, developed a melting ray, built a robot eye to tease the supervillains (probably my favorite prank of his to irritate Orpheus).

Edit: Wait, I thought The Alchemist had Phantom Limb's member. And did they retcon Action Johnny a bit? They actually had Hadji as the operator of a call center, but in the Z flashback it was a native American kid. Could just be an incorrect memory? He is old, after all.

Also, isn't Rusty technically still Red Death's primary arch? Or Wide Wale, who still probably has a good thing going with the Peril Partnership and the kickbacks from the Crusader Action League?

Anyone think that Gary and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch's relationship might actually become something more like they keep teasing at?

Doc and Jackson no longer say the show is about failure, since people took it as gospel truth when really, it was a loose theme.

I thought Phantom Limb lost a leg or something else? The thing Sheila took off her at Cremation Creek was pretty big and heavy, there's no way it's his member.

About to order the artbook, I can't wait to read it.

No, The Alchemist picks something invisible up at the end of Showdown at Cremation Creek, squeezes it, grins and goes, "Oh, I'm keeping this."

But then, Phantom Limb did regenerate all his parts, so...

I'm not spoilering this, it's years old. He does, but it's the same thing that landed on Sheila, and well, I'm not sure if Doc and Jackson ever verified what it was (I don't own the DVDs, so no clue if they said anything in the commentaries). But if it was, it huge and would be hard to not see through clothing. And they did make a joke he was going to show Sheila that one time, but it was just his invisible limbs. And I swear Phantom Limb wore a leg prosthetic for a time.

Well, regeneration or not, if he did lose it... Well, the other guy did cut off his... Makes the "showdown" more hilarious.

Bwahahaha! Slow episode, but had some really fun tidbits.

Dean gets laid. With Sirena.

Any clues as to who Murderbear is? He seemed to know Dean and Hank.

Was intrigued on how they pulled off the ending.

No idea who Murderbear could be. I wanna say it's somebody from earlier seasons we haven't heard or seen from for a good while.

The episode itself was kinda funny, I appreciate them going more towards the story and plot of the show in this episode compared to others where it felt mostly like fun fillers.
