Chris reaches out to me every few days or so but stopped the daily communication when I straight up told him the a alt-dimension stuff was a bunch of nonsense and I only used the ring flashing signals thing to get him to trust me. Even then he kept reaching out and I finally just said "leave me alone until you're ready to help yourself and drop the dimensional delusional nonsense."

I did ask who gave him the Fanta idea and he simply didn't reply. He does still trust me but I refuse to get deeply involved at this point. If he just won't straight up tell me I'm not making up another story about CPUs and Magi-Chan sending coded messages to get him to spill it.

I helped catch Wise and Boyd, assisted Null and Marvin in combing through his social media, etc. My good deed is done.
The interesting and startling part is that he'd forgo somebody that he knows is reals friendship and guidance for continuing his invisible companion nonsense.

When the voice of magic-chan is stronger than the voice of reason from real people that have actually bailed his ass out of bad situations, well that's just worrisome.

I don't think you can be blamed for that attitude in the slightest. You can't force someone to act in their own best interests, after all.

But you can force them to have phone sex with you every day and send you 6,000 dollars USD. It's almost as if Chris gravitates toward things that are bad for him. It's probably because nothing genuinely good or constructive has ever happened to him.

Eh.. If it happens to that extent again my opinion will simply shift to "Chris needs to be in a home and/or Chris needs a 24/7 paid caretaker (tard wrangler)". Basically, he would need daily, continued professional assistance to stop people from taking advantage. Maybe even to have the state step in and give a professional guardianship to include financial management. "Okay Chris, we're going to Wal-Mart. I'll take care of the groceries, here's $10 to spend on toys for the week."

I think that last part needs to happen now. Null has been good to filter emails for Chris so he obviously needs some life help and it's easy to see Chris is not doing well with his money.

And :autism: at any rate.

You forgot to add foregoing the use of a toilet in favor of a towel on the floor.

But in all seriousness it wasn't 6k all at once but that was the cumulative figure at the point in which we took over his secondary Discord account.

I can only imagine how bad it would have been now if nobody had intervened.. Towards the end they were taking $500 chunks and that was just a week or so before "Magi-Chan" communicated to Chris through the "reality stone" that they were dang dirty trolls.

As much entertainment Chris brings me with his antics and his sagas, I'm really happy that people intervened. I don't think anyone can really say what would happen to Chris if this kept on. Some people just take the trolling too far.

I got most of it, though without the full image. He deleted a few other begging tweets, too. Maybe he got fed up of being advised to get a job.

Tweets marked in black are the ones he trashed.

Yeah, gosh darn that eBay for expecting payment for services rendered. eBay gets 10% of most sales, so $127 is nearly $1300 in sales for last month. How can he get so much money (for someone like him) and still always be broke on such a regular schedule? He needs someone to manage his money. Someone who is not his profligate mother.

Why would you buy/need this to begin with?
These are the type of collectibles that say "collectible" on the box. They are designed to scam people out of their money. They were probably $20 or more per fake stamp when they came out. The stamps in the book go for $1 to a few dollars each now. He might get $30-100 for the set, depending on the specific stamps. They have no gold value at all. Unless you had every one ever made, it is not worth attempting recovery of the metal. There is so little gold on them.

These were "Mr. C's" Funko Pops toys.

He's been making that much in sales since April, if not twice that. Add in patreon for another $250 and $1300 in tugboat and that's nearly $3000 a month for the past 6 months. If he keeps that up for another 6 months he'll earn $36,000 a year, which is well above the national average.

Keep that in mind next time he begs for food money. Chris probably makes more than a lot of people that post here.

Nothing bad would have happened to him. He gets $1300+ monthly from the government no-questions-asked. He'll just buy less toys.

He would also not have been kicked out of Too Many Games.

You sound like others who previously interacted with Chris trying to rationalize it. "Dumpster diving Chris's garbage was a good thing because look at all the stuff I found." "Pretending to be a gal pal was a good thing because I convinced him to get rid of the unclit."

Chris will be Chris. His train will head to the next station one way or another, like an autistic Final Destination plot.

The fact still remains it's six thousand dollars. What makes things even worse was as you said, it was over a period of time, and it was progressing to 500 dollars each incidence. I could maybe understand or grasp it a bit better if it were a one time thing, like blowing 6,000 dollars on a card game at a casino, but this was chronic in nature. Chris saw no red flags. Not even the phone sex was enough to make him go to the authorities. I know, I know, .....but imaginationland.

What's worse, part of him considers it money well spent. He's still openly grateful to Wise for fleecing him.

Actually for a household of two in Virginia that's barely more than half the State's average.

Does Barb have income?

Does Barb have income?
She's got her tugboat, social security for sure, I want to say it was 1,500 a month. Plus people working out of Washington and living in Virginia definitely pushes up the state average. But as a national average, Chris is doing pretty good at his current earning pace.

Barb would need around $2000/month from social security and any retirement income (pension, deferred comp, 401k, whatever) to bring them around median income for Greene County ($63k) if Chris is pulling in $36,000/year. Considering they have no real expenses other than the house (which should be free and clear), they have no excuse for being literally penniless all the time. Average social security for retired persons is $1400 per month. Even $1000 per month for BW-chan plus $2500 for Chris gets them to $42,000 per year, which is around entry level job for most people and more than enough to live on in their area. If you are not an idiot, or, in this case, if you are not two idiots.

$40,000-$60,000 would not make them rich. It is lower end of middle class. However, I do think that benefactors of the Chandlers might be less inclined to donate if they knew how much money Chris was spending every year. Their spending has not changed from when Chris was being swindled; they cut out thousands in spending and still allegedly have $0 to their names. The Chandlers spend every penny they get as though money left over will disintegrate if not used within a week of receiving it.

40-60k is pretty decent for that area of Virginia. Ruckersville is not some fancy upscale town, its a tiny forgotten hickville in a corner of Virginia. The cost of living there is naturally pretty low compared to the rest of the state. Even taking into account Bobs death, Barb and Chris could have continued to live quite comfortably with the pension (hers and assuming she gets a part of Bobs?), social security, the autism tugboat, and whatever random income Chris managed to pull in from time to time. That sort of income would certainly be able to sustain an elderly widow and her disabled son if they were smart.

The Chandlers never really had an income problem, but they do have a spending problem. I'm willing to bet Borb never really learned or cared much for keeping a budget in her life, and it probably fell on Bobs part to maintain the family finances while he was alive. Once he was gone, naturally everything went to shit. Keep in the mind the house was fully paid off and Bob supposedly left them a small fortune when he passed, but well combine that with Snorlax craziness and Chris's spending, it was a disaster waiting to happen. The house is now supposedly under a reverse mortgage, the money is all gone and they've been reduced to begging online from the same people who used to make fun of them.

Borb and Chris kinda remind me of those hick millionaires who win the lottery and in a few years end up being broke and living in a trailer park somewhere. It doesn't matter how much money someone has, if they don't understand the concept of budgeting and living within your means, they'll always be perpetually broke. The Chandlers are a perfect example of this.

@Lord Thistlewick Flanders

It's a regular mortgage, not a reverse mortgage.

The reverse mortgage thing is a Chris urban legend because nool misspoke once and it caught on.

The result will still be the same, though. It's a secured loan that Chris won't be able to pay back on just one income and will eventually get foreclosed on. It just won't be instant like it would be with a reverse mortgage, where they could immediately evict him the day Barb died.

You could've left it at "won't be able to pay back". Barb demanding the money and taking it away from him so he can't spend it all is undoubtedly the only reason that the mortgage gets paid at all, and they still have had problems making the payments.
