They're going to stay in lockstep, there's no doubt there. They're just going to be salty about having to excercise their power quietly.
Yes, the changes just mean that DNC leadership will have to ensure the fix is in earlier. I cannot find the article for follow-up, but they are also changing the rules to prevent another Bernie from entering the primary process in the first place. But its still a smart move, as it prevents a situation where it appears the DNC leadership is railroading a candidate. Remember, there was a case in Florida where the DNC was sued Florida democrats for (basically) taking donations and then ensuring Clinton was the candidate; as their defense the DNC lawyers said, in court "Its says right in the charter: Fuck the party members, its all window dressing, leadership puts in whoever they want". It was a text-only story buried deep, absolutely zero outrage generated.
The problem with removing the Clintons is they are very, very good at raising money, directing money, and arranging the pay-for-play kickback without any serious law violations. Bill in particular knows how to work a room, how make the right sort of promises and, almost as importantly, have a giant list of people who either owe them favors or have done business with them before and know that the Clintons will deliver. There is no replacement. When you remove the Clintons, the Dem's will have to survive solely on a supply of tear-stained limousine liberal dollars, because the Clintons are the best DNC grifters and even then they aren't very clever, just secretive.
Barrack is nothing more than a useful beautiful idiot to trot out. The worst thing about him (now that he's out of office) is he's (compartively) young so we'll have to put up with him sharting about for years and years trying to "protect his legacy". Carter had the good fucking sense to stay out of domestic politics, I just wish ex-HNIC would follow his example.
We refer to it in "the industry" as a double entendre.

Yep, that's more or less her campaign failure in a nutshell, ignoring advice from Bill which was lulzy since he was a former two-term POTUS so I'd imagine he would have a general idea about running a successful campaign. She made guest appearances on Ellen and shit and had Hollywood and celebrities endorsing her but she ignored the factory workers, the farmers, people that put their blood, sweat, and tears into making sure things in the country keep running as smoothly as they do. Even fucking Bernie got out there in Wisconsin and Michigan to talk to people and obviously Trump went there, even if a lot of it's just your usual empty promises they got more out of those two guys than they did from Hillary and on election night they made sure she knew it.
Trump is actually Cobra Commander and he's in possession of the Weather Dominator and he's going to use it to wipe out all those Democrats...in the southern United States...something doesn't add up here.

Hilary's campaign was disconnected from reality they were as worried she would loose the popular vote while getting 300ish electoral votes. In the last month of the campaign they spent more on ads for the Omaha district of NE than they did in MI, MN, and WI COMBINED. All for 1 fucking electoral vote.

So yeah, heroic suicide because he obviously knew what was going to happen, but it wasn't politically motivated; it was just the age-old story of "love conquers all". Very personal, and probably less clear if you don't have kids (like most people searching for political guidance in a fun sci-fi movie from the 80's).

Meh. I remember back when cable news was saying that the split second of Janet Jackson's boob show on camera during the Superbowl 38 halftime show was more traumatic than 9/11.
It's never been about convincing the people on the outside, it's about gaining status within your own social circle by having the "right" opinions. As long as your group has 50% plus one of the voters on your side, then your stance is a mandate from heaven.
