Judging from his Facebook posts, the MLP shit started really ramping up in 2013. I'm sure he'd attribute this to his growing femininity, but to me it just points to his increasing detachment from reality and adulthood in general.

I've just heard from the Twitter feed that Fluttershy was voted the Fan Favorite Pony. I had voted ten a piece for Rainbow Dash and Applejack. It just hit me tough.

Also, just recently, I saw the vinyl figures that were sold at Hot Topic (I have Derpy) at Toys 'R' Us in C-Ville. And I've just heard of the Fan Favorite set at TRU to feature Derpy as well, but instead of her name, they put a muffin image in its place. I am looking forward to Season 4 in November. Perhaps they will have another episode featuring Derpy, and actually refer to her directly as that or Dipsy-Doo.

On top of this, note how beyond the pony representations of his own parents and the gal-pals, notice how at no point has Chris ever actually come up with anything that isn't even deviating from the licensed characters in pony as well as Hyperdimension Video Game Waifu.

The thing that gave birth to Sonichu was the unknown teacher who wouldn't let Chris play the autism card and just cram sonic onto a school project. Chris loved Sonichu because it got accepted (probably by the teacher realizing what lost cause it was) as an 'original creation', which is why he slapped it on everything - Sonichu was his excuse for actually having made an IP of his own, it was his brand.

But no there's nobody to tell him he can't just reappropriate characters from whatever he wants - mostly because nobody gives half a shit - and so honestly I think he's lost interest in sonic and thus sonichu. Though at the same time, Sonichu was always about Chris getting one up on his real life problems - Sonichu and the other freaks existed purely as imaginary friends where Chris legitamately had none in real life to 'defend him' the way the sonichus did his CWCville.

That's also around the time he discovered that his Gal Pals from high school weren't really his friends, which pretty much destroyed the one hopeful anchor he had to reality. I don't think it's a coincidence that Chris's grasp on reality started slipping after that revelation. Had the Gal Pals remained some distant sign of better times, I think Chris would've put up more resistance to someone making him believe that he could marry his Sonichus.
