Smart decision by Hasbro to age the characters up and girly up the designs to better suit the intended age group of 8-13 year old girls.

They’ll probably do a ‘punk girl rock and roll’ generation after this one to keep that customer base interested when they hit their edgy puberty stages.

Hopefully this will be the death knell for the brony crowd as the intended demographic ages into new product lines.

Hasbro is doing a new series of My Little Pony, it's another reboot so they've redesigned the characters to fit the new generation.
So Chris has a complete shit fit, this is like BLARMS is happening all over again. but this time it's MLP

Apparently they are changing the races of some of the characters around, this of course is bad for Chris for the purpose that come G5 he will have to retcon all his characters if he wants to stay relevant in the MLP oc fandom, Chris hate change but this one is huge for him, even more than blarms do to it radically changing every character and lore.

Why hasn't Hasbro hired Chris as a writer for the show? But in all seriousness, the G4 well has dried up for Hasbro, their last movie apparently did bad at theaters, hence they are going to put a lid on that well and dig for another new one that starts a whole new line of merchandise.

It basically a lost cause at this point. Most people argue that the G5 will have nowhere as impactful as the G4 even if it turns out to be good (in Bronies perspective), and I can agree with that.
