Perhaps, but it doesn't change the fact that Fox News isn't what's being discussed here. It's nothing more than a slightly more relevant "why are we arguing about X when Y is such a bigger issue?!?!?!!?" ploy. Something utilized when you know you can't defend your actual position.
It's just a red herring. He's trying to distract people from the shit he says by going, "Well gaming journalism is bad, but THESE GUYS OVER HERE are waaaaaaaay worse!!"
You guys are right. Games journalism may be small potatoes but it should still be held up to a higher standard. I've known game journalism was shit since IGN gave God Hand a 3/10 and then brought in another reviewer to defend that rating.
I do wholeheartedly argree with the ethics part of GG, but the anti-SJW thing is not something I buy into. After all, if creators and gamers want to bang on about how games are becoming/have become art (something I agree with) they deserve to be treated like art and examined from various perspectives.
It's kinda like how I don't like a bunch of modern country music because I feel it demonizes modern culture while romanticizing the way things used to be. Stuff like that "Automatic" song that plagued my work days this summer. My sister disagrees with me and tells me to listen to the music without thinking of the lyrics (she loves country, btw)...yeah right. If you just want me to listen to the music, don't give me lyrics.
BTW, love Drunk on a Plane.
