I mean, for one thing, Nick is a clearly masculine name, and he hasn't stopped using it anywhere. If he started going by, say, Nicki or Nicole, I MIGHT be a bit more credulous, but as it is, yeah, he's pretty obviously making shit up.

This is true to an extent, I think. Some of the shit he does is definitely attention whoring on his part, but going off of some of our old chats, a lot of it is shit he's genuinely into.

I have been lurking this thread and this Nick guy is someone I don't want to be near 2500 feet from. Anna I want to chime in like the others and say that you are commendable for having to go through this and dealing with this guy's delusions. I hope that you can keep yourself safe from Nick and that you are welcome on these forums. I've been posting here for about a year now and I find this place to be a pretty chill place and of course, knowing Nick's predisposition, this forum is indeed ready to defend you.

As for dealing with the name "Nick," I understand that it makes you uncomfortable but just keep in mind that not all guys named Nick are abhorrent. This is just one guy out of many and I am sure there are other guys out there that are far more nicer and saner than Mr. Bate.

I think Nick mentioned on either his LiveJournal or his personal wiki he had an Internet girlfriend (or probably just another girl he stalked) before he met Anna, and that Anna comforted him after he got rejected by her and he pretty much decided to latch on to her due to his clinginess. I'm not exactly sure though.

I don't actually have a set pronunciation for it, as I don't actually use it anywhere else. I'd probably say ahn-CAH-nee, though?

And the internet girlfriend thing does have some truth to it. Her name was Tara, and he was pretty creepy to her as well, but not to the extent he is with me.

As for no one talking to him, that's not entirely true. He actually had a fair few people who talked to him regularly, at least at the time.

Sort of, but with the second part being pronounced more like "ah" (like the A in "awful"). It's just the first two letters of my first, middle, and last names smooshed together. I don't normally use it as my username--Acey is more common for me--but yeah.
