👓 TGWTG Nostalgia Chick / Lindsay Ellis / TheDudette - aka Hotdogs in face girl

BTW just checked on the Facebook event. She clearly has a dedicated and devout following.

Disney films is all she wants to cirque because these TGWTG people hate movies that actually challenge them. You'll never see them talk about stuff like Wind River, Mudbound or The Florida Project.

A big part of it is nostalgia mining. It's incredibly easy and profitable to mine nostalgia for all it's worth. That's part of the reason why Disney has managed to become such a rich, popular and powerful company over the years. People like Lindsey and Doug Walker know this as well.

Última edición:
I was thinking if she wanted to capitalize on popular Disney films she should do a piece on Frozen, but then I realized that movie is full of nothing but the scum of the universe, white people, so it automatically has no value whatsoever. Pretty sure that the SJW's rank feminism lower than racial diversity.

Agree on the others like Doug or Linkara tho. Anything that isn't a popcorn blockbuster or a kid's movie gets the shaft by these assholes.
Don't you be including Brad Jones or Brandon Tenold in that list.

They're fully into the cult, exploitation and in Brad's case occasional porn movies that you question why they were made.

I don't envision Lindsey ever reaching the Stephenie Meyer threshold in life. The best she'll do is what she has going for now: a decent sized YouTube channel. Like everyone of these TGWTG alum's, she lacks the talent, skill, commitment, work ethic and drive to go beyond the YouTube moderate scale.

Fuck, we'd all be lucky to reach the Stephanie Meyer threshold. Say what you will about those books, and I have, but that woman is worth nine figures and all she had to do was write four shitty books and fade into obscurity.

Hell, I would love to hit the Stephanie Meyer threshold. I don't care if my books are complete shit, for that kind of money I would love to do it.

We'd all love to be able to whore ourselves out for that kind of money but that's like catching lightning in a bottle. It's usually a one time thing and once it's gone, it's gone. You couldn't be able to recreate Twilight today and trying to copy it is even worse.

You need to hit that sweet spot where common sense and what the fuckery happen to meet at that point in time.

Not Brad of course, I was referring to the likes of Doug or Lindsay, who think Animaniacs is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Kinda sad, since I remember once Doug talked about his top ten favorite movies, and they were pretty sophisticated tastes (A Clockwork Orange, Eyes Wide Shut). I dunno what happened for him to change to kid's tastes over the years. Or is it just pandering to his manchild audience?

I stopped trying to take Doug seriously when kept riding Frozen's dick.

Clockwork Orange and Eyes Wide Shut aren't exactly obscure flicks, there's always the very likely scenario he was just listing off acclaimed films and not things he personally liked.

makes sense. they grew up in the renaissance
problem is they didn't stop watching religiously well into their adult years

I've actually seen an article on their Chez Apocalypse website where they were crying about how not feminist Frozen was. kinda shocked me, tbh, considering how often feminists claim things for feminism

I don't get the Frozen dick-riding tbh. It was an above-average Disney princess movie but in 3D. Disney's made much more interesting movies.

That was when Blip hosted Channel Awesome. Blip was bought out by Maker Studios. Disney then bought out Maker Studios.

Bingo!

Remember he's going for "nostalgia" and this means pandering really to kids and young adults that really don't have much experience to call upon. As such he goes after the low hanging fruit.

Disney's made much more interesting movies.

They didn't have the monster hit that was "Let It Go". For months afterwards that song was everywhere. It's then stayed in the public consciousness ever since. Never underestimate the power of marketing.

I haven't watched her vids in a very long time but Lindsay popped up in my suggested today with a new video so I clicked it.
When she appeared on the screen I had to check, but it looks like the wine and popcorn have caught up with her.

I thought these videos were AT LEAST ten years apart....

Rachael Ray? Is that you?

Let's be fair, part of that aging appearance is that Lindsay really should have given up pigtails a long, long time ago. Getting a more grownup haircut is going to age her, for sure, but that's better than trying to have a 15 year old's hair well into your thirties.

TBF those videos are about 9 years apart and the pigtails bad make up and bad lighting at least personally make her look worse than her kinda dumpy but better hair(although she could and should take better care of it) and makeup modern self.
