Science Bill Nye got roasted to hell on his Reddit AMA yesterday

Following the massive failure of his recent TV series “Bill Nye saves the world”, Bill Nye the Cuck guy yesterday returned to the home of his largest fanbase, Reddit, to try to shill himself back into their positive graces……. probably in preparation for the return of his show for a second season. If you’re just catching up, even Reddit hates Bill now….. which is saying a lot, considering how much they dick rode him the past decade. Let’s just say yesterday’s AMA didn’t go very well.

Bill Naturally refused to answer any of the controversial questions directed at him (which were basically most of the top comments) and ignored them in favor of the non controversial ones he was more comfortably answering. The whole AMA looked like a graveyard, as most of the top-upvoted comments went unanswered, causing some users to call it “The worst AMA ever”. I’m not even nit-picking, here are the top comments ranked by most upvotes:

When Bill Did respond, most of his comments disappeared under mountains of downvotes for being either scientifically ignorant or just really obscure.

There is one other problem with wind and solar power nobody really thinks of:


In short, to get an proper AC signal on the power grid, the generators have to be synchronized, and both solar and wind power do not have the 'flywheel effect' that steam turbines have when there are large power draws, leading to brownouts. Adapting the power grid for that is going to be a big challenge.

Renewable energy nuts actually fully believe solar panels can magically solve all energy problems. Don't ask them about battery pollution, they'll BSOD if you do that. I mean seriously, if you want an example of how reatarded these people actually are just look at Solar Roadways. Which I'll bet you anything Billy Boy actively backs.
And then you got some of the nutjobs who think nuclear fusion is going to happen any time soon.

Oh my god is that ride still at EPCOT center? I remember going on it when it first opened and again about 10 years later and the gap in technological advancement was quite obvious. If Disney World is still running that attraction it must be downright hilarious now.

(I was at Universal Studios last year on a trip to my mecca, the Jurassic Park ride, and much to my surprise the park still had the *exact* same CRT monitors running the *exact* same pre-ride safety bullshit that they've been running since 1993. Such a glorious mindfuck.)

It's still there, but I don't think it'll be there for that much longer.
It's a pretty unique attraction. I bet it will get a facelift, but I don't forsee it getting outright replaced.
 
You know, I'm really nice and like giving people the benefit of the doubt. Especially when it's someone whose show I really liked as a kid. I could just tell myself the sex junk nonsense was requested by someone higher up and didn't necessarily reflect on bill.
But it's too hard now. His responses to people are so rude. Someone suggested someone else is transcribing them but I don't buy it, especially if they go through the effort of that but don't have someone telling him to not write such exceptional responses. Shouldn't he have an agent or someone keeping him from doing stuff like this?

It drives me nuts when people simultaneously screech about global climate change and CO2 levels while simultaneously refusing even to acknowledge the existence of the single largest carbon neutral source of energy in the world.

How the fuck do they think we're going to move beyond fossil fuels and still have the energy to run society without nuclear? If the problem is radiation, well, burning coal actually releases even more radiation than nuclear power per kilowatt because of the radioactive carbon.

In fact, for the same amount of power, burning coal releases 100 times the level of radioactivity into the environment. So if radioactivity is a big issue, even then, nuclear power is better.

Well I am 100% with you and in fact alot of studies show that Nuclear Power is cleaner, cheaper, and more practical with most of France powered by it makes me wonder if shows like Simpsons have forever ruined potential progress in energy. It doesn't help that when people claiming to know stuff like Bill Nye don't know what they are talking about, they continue to keep us ignorant about what could be actual steps to a cleaner environment.

There's also rumors that Universe of Energy will be replaced with a roller coaster with the most likely theme that people have been throwing around being Guardians of the Galaxy.

To be on topic though, it's pretty disheartening to see people completely disregard nuclear as an option thanks to feels and hysteria. Especially when people circulate these uninformed opinions that nuclear power = reactor meltdowns and impossible to control deadly radioactive waste when basically everything to do with human harnessing of energy is taking dangerous reactions and using them to our benefit.

There are solar panel spergs around, and the ones that get confronted with end-of-life solar panels that have lost the ability to generate power go BUT BUT MUH RECYCLING. They also couldn't give an entire shit about the pollution from mining and smeltering in China to get the rare earth elements for solar panels, but boy howdy, someone in North America tries to open a gold copper or any other kind of regular mine and they throw a fit.
