Science Bill Nye got roasted to hell on his Reddit AMA yesterday

Following the massive failure of his recent TV series “Bill Nye saves the world”, Bill Nye the Cuck guy yesterday returned to the home of his largest fanbase, Reddit, to try to shill himself back into their positive graces……. probably in preparation for the return of his show for a second season. If you’re just catching up, even Reddit hates Bill now….. which is saying a lot, considering how much they dick rode him the past decade. Let’s just say yesterday’s AMA didn’t go very well.

Bill Naturally refused to answer any of the controversial questions directed at him (which were basically most of the top comments) and ignored them in favor of the non controversial ones he was more comfortably answering. The whole AMA looked like a graveyard, as most of the top-upvoted comments went unanswered, causing some users to call it “The worst AMA ever”. I’m not even nit-picking, here are the top comments ranked by most upvotes:

When Bill Did respond, most of his comments disappeared under mountains of downvotes for being either scientifically ignorant or just really obscure.

This is what happens when you assume that "progress" is on your side. You start to feel invulnerable towards any complaints or criticism, because you can always just blame it on hating science, allowing you to cover up the specious arguements and lack of real world knowledge that you really bear.

Even his fucking reddit AMA says "I want to end anti-scientific thinking" like the preachy, arrogant, and disingenuous fool that he is.

Remember that all Bill Nye did to receive acclaim and respect was to market elementary school science to kids and to debate against brain-dead creationists, both of which certainly do not require an extensive specialization in any science, let alone give him the authority to speak so boastingly as he has over the past few years.

Apart from the embarassing gender crap, if you ever watched an episode of this new show, you'll see that there is no place for debate. They're usually 4 guys at the table, of which only one disagrees with Bill, and they allow this person to talk max 2 times and then get bombarded by packaged, superficial 'enlightmenet'. Fucking Bill "Constant reminder there's no God" Mauer handles his show more fairly. No wonder the guy's too pussy to confront real criticism

I didn't even make it through the first episode because of this. I think it was with some energy representatives or something. One of them was from the Nuclear industry.

It was basically Bill screeching at him autistically every time he opened his mouth to try and explain how Nuclear energy works in favor of the environment. And I mean screeching in the literal sense.

Energy rep: "Well, Nuclear energy is still one of the cleanest and most efficient sources of-"
Bill : "HOW DOES IT FEEL TO KNOW NO ONE WANTS YOUR NASTY ENERGY!!! REEEE!"
 
Is inertia still a property of matter? After all, science is racist. Poor oppressed inertia is stuck in place because of evil white matter slave driver.
 
Sigh, he really could have lived on as a nice funny science guy who made kids excited about life. Now he will most likely be remembered as a crude political "progressive" hack of a scientist.

If you're in the scientific or education field, you should have lost all respect for him after that episode of his new show on gender came out. You can totally be in favor of LGBT rights and having respect for the gender they identify as, but don't spread pseudo-scientific, unproven bullshit about "oh, scientifically speaking, gender isn't so clear cut." Don't ever insert your politics or your beliefs into your work as a scientist. You're no better than a crazy Creationist at that point.

I'll always remember in my 6th grade science class, my teacher seldom showed any of his videos because he told us he thought he was a fucking quack who dumbed down some of the more complex aspects of the scientific method and processes, which would be a bad influence on future potential scientists who frequently watched his show. Wherever he is today (probably dead), I hope he's having a laugh at how right he was about Nye and his dumb audience.

His nuke REEEing was what really put me off of him.

He was doing some talking head spot on cable around the Sendai earthquake and Fukushima fuckingshitup.

One of his big scary points was how there was a threat of more nuclear reactions because of all the fissionable materials still there like the control rods.

If you don't habla nuclear energy that's roughly like saying "That car over on the side of the road might start moving again because it still has all that stuff in it that made it go, like the brakes."

I wasn't going to get that technical with it, but yeah. His talking points were kindergarten level generic and washed with such a thick layer of smugness it almost made me ill to watch it.

Watching Bill Nye over the last couple of decades or so is like watching your alcoholic father get progressively worse as you grow up.

Your first memories are of him being a hero... then as you get older you notice he's a bit off but it's ok, it's still your dad and you have all these great memories of him.

That whole Netflix show was like coming home to find your dad drunk and dressed in a leather My Little Pony gimp suit while singing the show's theme song in a slurred, effeminate voice.

Does anyone remember when this happened?

Popular TV personality Bill Nye collapsed onstage Tuesday night in front of hundreds of audience members during a presentation at USC, campus officials said.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics and USC's department of public safety responded to the scene about 8:40 p.m., but it was unclear if Nye was treated or required transport. There was no information available on his condition late Tuesday.

Some accounts posted on Twitter said Nye fainted more than once and demonstrated slurred speech.

Nye, 54, is best known for making science palatable to young audiences through humor and elaborate contraptions on the Emmy Award-winning show “Bill Nye the Science Guy” that ran during the 1990s.

The Studio City resident was scheduled to speak at 7 p.m. at Bovard Auditorium about his experience on the show and his views on science education.

[Updated at 10:52 p.m.: Tristan Camacho, a USC senior who attended the lecture, said Nye was walking toward the podium when he collapsed mid-sentence. "Then after about 10 seconds, he popped back up with much gusto and asked everybody how long he was out for and went on with a story about how a similar thing happened to him that morning."

Nye appeared determined to finish his presentation, but began slurring his words and stumbled against his laptop, Camacho said. At first, Nye refused the offer of a chair and continued taking sips from a water bottle. Camacho said Nye was eventually removed from the stage.

"Nobody went to his aid at the very beginning when he first collapsed -- that just perplexed me beyond reason," USC senior Alastair Fairbanks said. "Instead, I saw students texting and updating their Twitter statuses. It was just all a very bizarre evening."]

I can't help but wonder if this is why he went full retard with the political stuff. "I don't know how much time I have left, and I want to leave a real legacy, not just 'has-been science popularizer for children.'"
