Congress will probably write some legislation to prevent deportation. I doubt McConnell and Ryan are up to the task of deporting nearly a million. There are lots of Republicans who also do not want deportations (Alexander, Collins, Corker, Flake, Hatch, Heller, Hoeven, Graham, McCain, Murkowski, Rubio, Tillis). All of these Republicans have supported letting ALL illegal immigrants earn citizenship, not just children.

I also know a couple of DACA people, but nobody close to me. I'm sure a lot of people were shitting bricks today, but I'm sure this will light a fire under Congress to actually legislate on the issue and not just let it stagnate with an interminable "temporary" executive order patching it over.

I've got no objection with giving these kids a path to citizenship. Pass basic ESOL tests and get a high school diploma and we're golden.
Problem is, President Obama signed this executive order and didn't provide people with a clear path towards citizenship.
It's like "great we aren't gonna deport you"
"Oh but btw... we aren't gonna expidite the process to make it any easier for you all to gain citizenship." And even though you're a teenager (or younger) with limited English skills... you're expected to understand the complicated immigration process...
Oh I'm sure it's fine... it's not like we democrats could lose in 2016.

I don't think some kid that was dragged over the border by their parents and is trying to do the best they can in a new situation is a "fuck them" situation, personally. I feel bad for a lot of them, mostly. The ones who are here screaming about how much this country sucks and how we need to open the borders so the drug cartels can operate freely and turn the southern states into the kind of violent shithole so much of Mexico is, yeah, fuck them.
Immigration is a difficult subject because it does legitimately involve innocent confused children, terrified desperate people with good intentions, and extremely valuable people with a lot of potential for success but a shitty hand dealt to them. The problem is that they're mixed in with horrible violent criminals, uneducated and uneducatable burdens to society, and people who absolutely and unashamedly hate your culture and don't just want to continue living their own culture in isolated pockets, but insist that you give up yours and conform to theirs instead.
I'm all for stricter border control and harsher immigration policies. It's not tribal wandering anymore, you can't just go exploring. We've got detailed maps and nukes and anthrax, we're playing a totally different game with brand new rules. But I still feel bad for the innocents who have to take the short stick just to keep every innocent from getting the same short stick. But it's less "Fuck them" and more "regrettably your services are not desired at this time..."
